I've used BSAopt to view and extract the meshes and textures. I can't seem to find the vanilla leather armour anywhere. Anyone know where it is or what it is called?

Plus. I'm curious, has anyone yet been able to make a unique armour -- ie. a copy of the vanilla armour which does not replace all vanilla armour of that type?

The default Leather armor Cuirass is under: Armor\Studded\Male\body_GO.nif

Not sure why it's called studded, but, there it is. The rest of the set/female meshes are in the same directory.

I've managed to add a piece of light armor that looks the same as a mage's robe without overwriting anything. I used the FONV version of TESsnip to copy the properties of a piece of light armor, then changed the formID and got a new item from it. It's a bit hard to get it all to work nicely though, lots of copy and pasting from different entries.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. But, i'm not a hundred percent sure what you are describing. my best guess is that you created a new object, a duplicate of a piece of light armor, and then you copied over the appearance from another object. or am i wrong? also, maybe there is a resource (preferably the one that you used) which you can point me towards?

Would it be possible for you to extract and convert a armor into obj format with this program? Because I'm going to make an armor from scratch but need something to follow...

You are very much correct.

I took one item's stats, and another's appearance and combined them.

The program I used is TESNV from the NV FOMM.

Just search it in FONV Nexus and you'll find it right away.

You'll need to copy tesv.exe and rename it to falloutNV.exe to get the program to run for the first time.

Hope that all helps.
