BassMunkee
Hi, I'm having a real problem with this:I'm running Oblivion GOTY + Unofficial patch + Unofficial Patch Upgrade + Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch + Unofficial Mod Patch. PC:Intel core 2 quad cpu Q8300 @ 2.50Ghz4Gb RAMWindows Vista Home Premium 32 bit GPU = NVIDIA Geforce GTX 550 ti I've tried through Script Extender and via native launcher at high graphics settings and low.The screen flashes but no further activity occurs and the game fails to launch. The game is also unable to detect my graphics hardware. I'm using the latest NVIDIA driver It's a brand-new install, and I really would like to play this game and it's frustrating because I can't see any reason why it won't and it's increasingly becoming less of an enjoyable experience and more of an annoying waste of money!! Gah!! Any advice?
bben46
Did you start the game and make a save before installing any mods or any unofficial patches (The unofficial patches are not true patches, they are actually mods.)Has it ever started?Check to see if it can play the game. Using the computer you plan to play the game onGo here to see if your computer can run the gamehttp://www.systemreq...tslab.com/cyri/ You will find the various game we support Skyrim listed as 'The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimOblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, OblivionFallout3 as Fallout3 PC Dragon Age listed as Dragon age: OriginsDragon Age 2 as Dragon Age IIThe Witcher as The WitcherThe Witcher 2 as The Witcher 2: Assassins of KingsFallout New Vegas as Fallout: New VegasMorrowind is not listed, However if you can run Oblivion at all it should run well on your system. The recommendations here are fairly conservative, So if it says you can run it, you probably can. But if it says you can't, you may be able to if you make some small improvements or shut down some background stuff. They are also not going to say You definitely can run it, only that your computer meets the minimum requirements to play it, and not how well it will play. If all else fails: Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the WIKI section of the Nexushttp://wiki.tesnexus...stall_procedure It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice. BassMunkee
Thanks for the response, well I know off the bat that it will run Oblivion without any trouble whatsoever, so that's fine. The card is an upgrade, prior to that I had a GT230.That PC has played Dragon Age 1 and 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Morrowind with the old card, without even considering the new one.--I'm thinking it's either a video driver issue or an install problem so I reckon I'll take your advice and uninstall/reinstall it and see where I go from there.--Cheers,Mat
