Mod info request (playable monsters)

I've done a bunch of research but can't find any(!) information if this is something that actually exists in some form or is being worked on by someone.

Couldn't find any information about wether this is at all possible or not.

Surely i'm not the only person interested in this.

If i have missed some topic/site that has topics about this i apologise and please give me a link.
