Same here, I am away 2 weeks come back and Fallout gets updated, NMM doesn't show mod updates (come on it's been broken since May now) but I update f4se and Placeanywhere and it crashed immediately on trying to load a game save. Running Fallout through the normal launcher and it loads. Placeanywhere is the only f4se mod I use.

And the load it up without f4se and save it. Then load that save with the f4se loader doesn't work either.

Latest f4se and latest placeanywhere used.

Ok I have got mine working again. This is what I encountered, nothing changed from the CTD with f4se above.

I had 3 or 4 saves within a few minutes apart from more than 2 weeks ago (before the updates and new DLC installed)

Tried to load the last one, CTD

Tried to scroll down to load an earlier save, got down 2 or 3 in the list then CTD.

Manually moved all the latest saves out of my save game folder to one that was from the previous day but still recent enough to no lose any thing important, game loaded.

Update.

1) start Fallout via F4SE loader

2) game crashes.

3) retstart Fallout using F4SE loader

4) game loads.

So it crashes first time, then loads the second every time. !?!?!

Not sure if this is linked to the phantom missing esp warning I used to sometimes get (no Fallout the esp is not missing, it's there and proven when I quit out and check its there and active) and the next time the phantom warning doesn't appear so the game loads.

  • 1 year later...

So far I got this.

My game ryns with all my mods with the fallout ini custom and prefs and that bull s#*! set to the outdated settings when we all started modding with. Ill leave the instructions below

The only problem, can't pause the game. It will crash it. Go with the outdated instructions and in ur prefs, get rid of the archive lines
