What does it say?

Don't know if this has been commented on before, and wouldn't know how to search for it to see if it has, but I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

Go into the Oak and Crozier in Chorrol. Go upstairs to the gallery overlooking the inn main parlour. At the entrance to the corridor that leads to the rooms, against the ceiling, is a wooden sign with writing on it. I've tried to read it, in game, and haven't been able to.

Has anyone else noticed this? And been able to read it? What does it say?

Cheers, T.

Not being able to make out those signs used to drive me nuts on the computer I played Oblivion on when it first came out! Once I could read them, I saw they're not all that wonderful after all.

This one says, "To achieve the impossible dream, try going to sleep." There's another one of the same type around other places: "Conversation is the enemy of good wine and food."

You'll find them in Clutter -- sign02 and sign03 (textures are in Clutter -- Barset -- sign03 and sign04). If anyone would care to make some with much cleverer sayings, I for one would be at least mildly thrilled! :D

H'mmmm. For some reason I didn't even think of opening the CS. Thanks, Bess, you are a marvelous font of information on anything to do with TES.

Now that you've mentioned it, yes, I will have a go at making some, for inclusion in Maeva's Bookshop. I'll consult with 'Maeva', she's the one with a wonderful talent for phrasing and aphorism.

Didn't open the CS for this -- I've got the game's meshes and textures permanently extracted in their own folder. Need them handy all the time! Let me know whenever you want something looked up!

If you're going to make some [wiser, pithier!] ones, then I'll upgrade from merely mildly thrilled to definitely thrilled to bits. Maeva's a gem with the apt phrase! Actually, I was going to hint in my earlier response that you might do this.... but I was carefully avoiding giving any impression of putting pressure on you!
