Companion clothes/armor change

So heres the deal:

1. I want to be able to change some of the armors that my companions wear because i want them to wear something (for instance Lydia wont wear some elven or glass armor when its better than the steel armor that she has on for some reason) I want my companions to wear the best stuff cause sometimes they just die way too easily.

2. My wife is a companion and a blade so she's constantly wearing the armor even when i tell her to go home and stay at home. Is there some way that we can make her either automatically (or manually if need be) switch into clothes so its more realistic? Also, like number 1, they wont ever switch out of blades armor from what i see.

3. Finally, is there a way to see how much inventory space our companions have like New Vegas? I packmule my companions constantly and its almost a guessing game to what they can carry.

Ideas to fix:

So i was thinking of ways to fix this, and so i thought of three ways that could work: one involves a spell (similar to Oblivion mods), the other with like location parameters (inside a city/house x-type of clothes) or a favoriting system like the player has except you choose which things that you want your companion to wear. Those are just ideas though, to be honest i have no idea of the programming logistics behind it. Im pretty much a gamer with a semi OCD problem for small details in games that would be so grateful if someone else could make this for him.

Even i am looking for a similar mod.Even though if you remove all their armor and give them new armor they just put back their default armor.I do think this mod like will be made (like one was made for fallout new vegas).

Uh, Lydia is skilled in heavy armor, which means she gets better protection from the steel armor than the glass, therefore will not wear it. Try giving her a set of Daedric armor. Even if you could give her glass, it will be less protection than the steel armor, because she isn't skilled in it. And companions don't level up skills the same way you do, so light armor will never get any better on Lydia, so its rather pointless to give her glass armor.

I have seen more than a few ask these questions, and its always people trying to give companions armor/weapons they aren't skilled in and then wonder why they won't equip it.

Ok i see now, but then how do their skills work? Are they static or do they have just major skills that increase as you increase levels? Anyway, I guess thats another thing to add, skill sets for our companions that we can have control over.
