NCRSoleSurvivor
Hi, recently I have started up a new Mass Effect 3 with a lot of new mods installed, such as textures and DLC mods.I'm at the part where you first enter the War Room after the first nightmare sequence. The problem at hand is when I leave to go through the scanner that will lead into getting to the Galaxy Map room, the game instantly crashes as soon as Shepard stands in place of the scanner to get scanned. Now I know I can easily fix this by clicking the "Repair Game" option in Origin, however I have load of mods installed so if I go to repair then it's obviously gonna overwrite my game with vanilla files and I'll have to reinstall all of them again, which could take up to a whole day.I have the vanilla version of Mass Effect 3 backed up, so I could obviously replace the corrupted file that is causing the crash upon entering the Galaxy Map room with the vanilla fresh file. However I do not know which file it is that I need to replace. If anyone can help me out with the issue or knows a better suggestion and informs me of it, then I will highly appreciate it. me3deager
With me3explorer, try running the User Tools -> TOC Tools -> Auto TOC and choose to Generate All TOCs. That may fix the issue.

That may fix the issue. Thanks, but it didn't work. It still crashes the game as soon as Shepard stands in place to get scanned.I think it's worth mentioning that recently I loaded up one of my past saves where Shepard is already in the Galaxy Map room just so I could see if the scanner wasn't only just the problem, and oddly enough, the game crashed as soon as I loaded the save, meaning the Galaxy Room itself is bugged, not just the scanner that you walk through.Any other ideas that could help?Like I mentioned before I have the full vanilla version of the game backed up so I can easily replace the current corrupted file I have with a vanilla one and that might fix it, however I'll need to know which file(s) to replace.Unless you have a better suggestion then fire away. me3deager
I see both BackOff and EGM have various patches. The hotfix for EGM does a lot more than it says. In fact, if you're using CEM Full, also grab the BackOff and EGM patch. Then do the AUTO TOC thing again and hopefully that will get it working. CEM doesn't touch that main CIC file but I think EGM does...maybe BackOff because of Traynor.
NCRSoleSurvivor
I see both BackOff and EGM have various patches. The hotfix for EGM does a lot more than it says. CEM doesn't touch that main CIC file but I think EGM does...maybe BackOff because of Traynor. To be honest, I already installed the patches and compatibility updates for each mod when I first downloaded them all. But I did what you said anyway and as I expected it didn't change anything.I really don't think it's any of the DLC mods that are causing the problem. I think it's one of the files in the Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole directory as I replaced the whole folder with my vanilla backed up files (but I made sure to back up my modded CookedPCConsole folder) and the game ran alright, I could enter the Galaxy Room with no problem. You could just say I should just run along with the vanilla CookedPCConsole but as you see from the mods I have, I've got quite a lot of texture mods and it'll take a while to reinstall them. So obviously I'm going to have to figure it out myself and replace the corrupted file.Unless you can tell me the names of files in the CookedPCConsole folder that are included for the CIC room, then I don't think there is much you can do to help. Thanks for what you tried to help me out with so far, I appreciate what you did but I guess the only way you can help me now is by telling me which files in the CookedPCConsole folder are included to run the CIC room so I can replace the corrupted modded one with a vanilla fresh one. Thanks again for trying to help, much appreciated. me3deager
Check out these files.BioD_Nor.pccBioD_Nor_200.pccBioD_Nor_200_LOC_INT.pccBioD_Nor_201Bridge.pccBioD_Nor_201Bridge_LOC_INT.pccBioD_Nor_201BridgeCon.pccBioD_Nor_201BridgeCon_LOC_INT.pccBioD_Nor_203aGalaxyMap.pccBioD_Nor_203bGalaxyMapObjs.pccBioD_Nor_203CIC.pccBioD_Nor_203CIC_LOC_INT.pccBioD_Nor_204aWarRoom.pcc....there are a ton of BioD_Nor_204* files. However, I don't suspect most of the 204 files would be the problem as they are streamed in as needed. However, the lower valued Hackett and Anderson ones could be in play. The nice thing with this is you might be able to replace just a few BioD_Nor* files and yes, the textures might suck for a bit in those areas, but otherwise you save yourself a full rebuild of the game and mods. Fortunately characters tends to stream in from BioH files (I think) so you'll probably still get most of the textures still working fine. Anyway, let me know how it goes because I'm thinking about doing a video tutorial series covering not just how to use me3explorer and installing mods but also troubleshooting stuff too. Once I get done with my current mod work of course. :)
NCRSoleSurvivor
Thanks a lot, but it turns out none of the files you listed were causing the problem, it was actually BioA_Nor_210CIC.pcc.Thanks for that list of files as they lead me into the right direction, now when I go through the scanner I can enter the Galaxy Map room with no problem :)I owe you a huge thanks!I'll be sure to check out this video tutorial that you have planned.Anyways, thanks for the help ^.^
