freddycashmercury
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone here played the accordion?
WoogieMonster
Hi Freddy, nice to meet you. I am quite talented on several instruments, but not that one, sorry.
TheTerminator2004
Welcome to the forum, and here is your fishystick: http://www.thenexusforums.com/uploads//monthly_10_2007/post-28227-1193568599.gif I don't know of anyone who can play the accordion, sorry. freddycashmercury
Well, thanks for the stick, and what instruments do you play WoogieMonster?
WoogieMonster
Well, thanks for the stick, and what instruments do you play WoogieMonster? Extended trumpet, French horn (yes really), concert baritone, and sousaphone/tuba. Learned them all in high school so many years ago.
ResidentWeevil2077
So that's half of the brass section I'd need in an orchestra, since I'm writing a new overture for this big musical number... Just kidding :P I'm sorry, the only stretchy thing I'm good at that comes close being an accordion is Slinky... *starts singing the Slinky jingle*Slinky, Slinky, everyone wants a Slinky... :whistling:
freddycashmercury
Wow, that's pretty cool. I am still learning the accordion, but hope to also learn guitar, bass, and violin. Oh, and quick question, I noticed that although you must be 18 to sign up for membership, many profiles say they are 16 or younger. As a person who is not exactly 20 or 18 or 16, would I get kicked out if my profile stated how old I really am? I had to sign up to download the larger mods, but I really don't like misrepresenting myself as being someone I am not. Also, on your profile, WoogieMonster, I saw you retired from the Navy. I happen to be the son a recently retired senior chief, so congratulations on that and I must say that I have much respect for anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, along with their families. ResidentWeevil2077
No, you wouldn't get kicked out, just temporarily banned... nah, nothing would happen - heck I don't think Dark0ne really cares how old you are (well, he has to care since he is the site's owner  ) The only thing is as long as your mom or dad (or legal guardian, has to be over 18 though) has given you permission to log on to the website. Scratch that, after reading the Resgistration Terms & Rules, it does not mention how old you have to be. As long you follow the rules of the forum, you won't have to worry about the moderators (:P ; :whistling:) being on your case. So, I think it would be better to state how old you really are, as sometimes the most mature posters are barely out of Gr. 6, and sometimes the most immature posters are (still) living in their mother's basement. Also, it would save someone who has a tendency to, how shall I put it, lecture other posters who still sound noobish, even if they've been on the forums for a while (especially if  )
ninja_lord666
I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about; it must be a new feature. Most of the people on the forums signed up before anything like that came about. I know when I signed up, there was no age requirement. I'm pretty sure the age requirement is because Oblivion is a Mature game, and because the Image Share is clogged with porn... For the record, no, I don't play the accordion. I have a trombone in my closet, but I haven't touched it since eighth grade, because band class was no longer required in High School. I have no idea how to play it anymore, not that I was very good when I did play it. :P
WoogieMonster
The correct thing for me to say about your profile is "just be honest." I would not dare speak on behalf of the staff, but as long as you do not start trouble I do not think they will kick you out. In fact, just over the last week several site improvements have made it a little safer for younger members. As for my military service, thank you for your comments, however I did not exactly retire. Ask your dad to describe to you a SRBOC chaff round. I was carrying one when a bullet hit it. Through some extreme improbability it actually launched out of my arms and detonated about 10 feet in the air above me. Quite easily the worst day of my life.
