Major issue rendering objects.

Hi. For whatever odd reason, my game as of late has been struggling to load buildings, rocks, trees, NPCs, roads, etc etc... I've uninstalled Skyrim (and deleted all the mods and any leftover files related to Skyrim) twice now, but the issue still remains. It's extremely noticeable, as said objects only load once I am directly in front of them. For instance, the Robber's Gorge area won't load any buildings or NPCs until I am literally in the middle of the camp. Rocks only appear once I am nearly on top of them, same goes for NPCs. The view distance sliders in the Skyrim launcher options are fully maxed out. If someone could help me I would appreciate it so much, it's difficult to play the game like this.

Hello,

  1. Ensure your skyrim installation is healthy = Make skyrim vanilla again. Don't install mods, test first your game to see if any of the issues you describe above are happening again.
  2. Make sure the computer you're using meets the recommanded requirements to play a modded skyrim. Don't make vague statements like "it worked on other games so it should work with skyrim", this leads to nowhere except problems. The sooner users manage reality, the sooner they can work efficiently on their game and optimize their resources instead of loosing time.
  3. Refering to what I've said above, here is a good time investment, an efficient guide to build your game : STEP.
  4. Make sure you're using the latest USLEEP.
  5. Before installing any mod, make sure you're using the good ones >> Dangerous mods list. Don't install a bunch of mods with your mod manager. It doesn't mean because it's easy to do that it will work. Always test.

Here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game if not already been done. :

/// Load order / mods conflicts :

  • Use L.O.O.T once and click on the "sort plugins buttons".
  • Create a wryebash patch including leveled lists.
  • Create a merged patch with Tesedit excluding leveled lists
  • More specifically, you may create a manual patch between two or more mods.

/// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :

  • Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page.
    Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.
    - Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.
    - Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
    - Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
    - Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
  • The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors.

/// Settings / memory :

  • Have you installed the skse patch ? >> memory blocks log.
  • Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\Utilisateur\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.
  • You may install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx.

/// Save game :

/// Meshes healer :

  • Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page.

/// Useful informations :

Hope this helps.

For whatever reason, reverting Skyrim to vanilla and reinstalling for the 3rd time worked. 3rd times the charm, huh? Well, mostly. I still don't render it from a far distance like it used to, but I at least load it without having to go right smack in the middle. Still not sure what exactly caused it, so I'm just getting 1 mod at a time, checking if I can render, and doing that in a loop until I either find the issue or am happy with my setup. Thanks again!
