Invisible Ebony Shield Vampirism bug report

I looked this up on google, I too have am a vampire and I too have this glitch. Only noticed as I had just picked up an ebony sheild by random chance!

 

Still... hope this is on beth's to do list it is slightly annoying because I have no intention of getting cured.

Hi,

I'm having a similar / the same bug.

I forged an Ebony Shield and equipped it, but it is placed in my hips, and if I draw my weapons (or spells) and try to block, nothing happens in the Ego-perspective. In 3rd Person my Dovahkiin tries to block with his arm. (Don't know if it's useful against a sword :rolleyes: )

 

Is there any workaround / fix?

Imo the Ebony Armor is one of the coolest armors in the game and I wan't this one so much, but without bugs.

Very recently I experienced a bug where, the very second I became a vampire, my Ebony Shield becames invisible. The shield is equipped, and pressing block causes the same blocking animation, but there's no visible shield, I don't know whether this affects if the shield still blocks damage or not. However, as I've tested so far this bug only seems to affect Ebony Shields, as I've tried equipping hide, glass, dwarven, steel, and daedric shields and found no issues.

 

Here's what I've tried to fix it myself so far:

 

Post vampirism:

 

1. Unequipping and re-equipping the Ebony Shield.

2. Saving and loading, both with the shield equipped and not.

3. Equipping a different shield and then re-equipping the Ebony one.

4. Purchased a different Ebony shield to the one I was using and equipping that instead.

 

Pre-vampirism

1. Loaded an earlier save to ensure it wasn't an isolated incident.

2. I was still able to see the Ebony shield after loading.

3. Transitioned to vampire both with and without the Ebony shield equipped.

4. Transitioned to vampire with another type of shield equipped, still can't see the Ebony shield and did not make the other shield invisible.

 

None of the above have fixed the issue. What is going on here?

I just encountered this error (vampire also) and have the same exact issue. I have 3 shields in my inventory and they are

• Blades Sheild

• Ebony Sheild

• Targe of the Blooded

So far the error affects the Blades and Ebony sheilds.

So I didn't quite help here, but I got to complain about my Blades Sheild. I knew I shouldn't of laid them by the "Becoms Ethereal" Dragonstone (;

 

Oh and I don't know if this helps, but it is still possible to effectively perform a power bash, Sheild Charge, and block running with the invisible sheilds, as I bashed my wife (Lydia, now marriageable :D) into a waterfall on accident while laughing at my vampire running funny with his arm raised..

just got the same problem here, ebony shield gone with vampirism, well texture gone but effects and block still there... pathetic betheseda...

 

well I talked a bit too fast, even if cured from vampirism, the shield wouldn't appear.. but after switching the game off then on again, the texture shield re-appeared !

The bug is still not corrected with the dawnguard DLC... but thank to your mod I can see my ebony shiel again ^^
