mountaindew444
So I got Skyrim installed for the first time. I noticed right away there was no sound. I updated my sound driver and set the speakers to stereo. Still nothing. So, as the beginning of the game starts, the guys sitting in the wagon aren't doing anything, and when we reach the town to get out, nothing happens. We all just sit in the wagon. I have the computer requirements and I am stumped on why this is happening. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix this? Any help is apprechated. Thank you! Sweeden34
I have the same issue here, plays sound on initial load up screen but afterwards does nothing. We just ride the wagon until it stops then nothing. this needs addressed.

Well I played the game on our laptop with the same cd and besides the fact that our laptop is really too old to play it (it was unbearably slow) it worked just fine ie sound, animations etc... SmilingAhab
Steam screwed up Skyrim bad with that 1.1 update. My advice - grab revo uninstaller free ed., wipe local game content, uninstall steam with revo and delete everything it finds post-uninstall, then reboot, and reinstall steam and your game. Also, go to your graphics card manu's website, the two big players released beta drivers for Skyrim, which fix a lot of initial release problems. I would also recommend LAA, as it fixes a lot of problems. If these don't work, wait until Dec. 2, the 1.2 patch should be out by then. Seriously, no 64 bit executable, total lockdown by Steam (a mess of a platform if ever there was one, they should've gone with Desura or Origin, both are more stable - and Steam's quickly becoming a monopoly to boot), and a dozen other basic problems that have existed since Morrowind that Bethesda doesn't address (cough*robotpeople*cough), they're more and more like the EA of high fantasy. They did good work on Hunted: Demon's Forge, but none of that animated action made it into the ES series. Whatever. I'm waiting to see what the studio that made Witcher does with that awesome RED engine. /rant
mountaindew444
Thank you SmilingAhab for your help. Yeah, no kidding. I haven't even got to play Skyrim yet. I believe I may that a try. I'm just getting tired of messing with it. As you said, the patch coming out will hopefully fix the problem. I do have a 64-bit Operating System. But I just don't want to mess up Fallout New Vegas though if I uninstall Steam. But, whatever it takes, I'll try it.
