jjb54
I've looked on the Nexus and see a " few " Mods that address the zero cool down for dragon shouts. Now one person took me to ' task ' and called it " cheating ", until I made my case: 1st - I have the " Deadly Dragons " mod and noticed that the Greybeards have NO cool down. The dragons were attacking in the back of the Castle and 2 Greybeards just kept shouting as did the dragons. So I'm going: Wait! I'm Dragonborn and if the GB's have no cool down and dragons do not have cool down. Why should I? As I'm 1/2 dragon soul and such. So of the mods that do this - which one is good to go? I see some bugs and conflicts and such and so before I try one, I thought I would see if there are any recommendations on this. Thanks! ... Jj .... hugojmaia
Cooldown on shouts was the way bethesda balanced them for the game, it's a really bad way of balancing it but at least it keeps shouts from making other combat options useless.Think about it, if you can just keep spamming the shout button would you even bother to pick up a sword in a fight? Completely removing the cooldown might be too much but you could always add dragon soul relinquishment and then set on that mod how much you'd like the cooldown to be recuded by spending a number of dragon souls. Default is 50% reduction for 25 dragon souls, add talos blessing and amulet of talos and you've reduced the cooldown to 30%.

But as stated, for dialog sake only. 1 - Dragons have NO cool down.... It's their "language", they do not need to "cool down", to speak. 2 - As I found out the Greybeards have NO "cool down". 3. Even Miraak had NO "cool down", when he used dragon shouts. So I just found it curious, that ALL those had / have no "cool down" and yet .... ;)
hugojmaia
You make it sound like when you fight dragons, the greybeards or Mirrak you have them spamming shouts at you. Like they'd be shouting as soon as the previous shout effect hit you.I haven't seen the greybeards fighting and I don't think dragons use their shouts all that frequently.Miraak is scripted, I don't remember him shouting all that frequently. Fought him last week, got the ethereal bug that has him do wirlwind rush and the ethereal shout at the same time, though that didn't happen after I reloaded and did the fight properly to avoid the bug, only saw him shout twice during the fight, one for the dragon aspect and another for the wirlwind rush that led to his death animation. Try setting a 90% shout cooldown reduction with DSR, it might be the sweetspot that allows you to shout as often as dragons do. Or check for a mod that forces a cooldown on other creatures with the ability to shout, don't know if someone made anything like that though. Also note that with a 90% cooldown reduction you can completely remove the cooldown with a blessing or amulet of talos.Since it'll be 1 dragon soul for each 2% reduction, wanna test to see at which point you're shouting as often as the greybeards? I have "Deadly Dragon" mod. They attacked me when I was up with the Greybeards. 2 of them fought the dragons with " dragon shouts " and zero " cool down ". When fighting Miraak, yes, you do see him using dragon shouts QUICKLY. Very quickly. From " Whirlwind Shout " - to " Fus Ro Dah " and " ethereal " and I believe one other, and rather quickly -aka- no cool down .... No bugs on my part. Dragon also have ZERO cool down, and we see this as well. This is their and this is a point: Their natural tongue. I just found it strange, that Greybeards - Miraak & Dragons all have ZERO cool down, so from Miraak being " dragonborn " - to the Greybeards, NOT being dragonborn to dragons, everyone has zero cool down - except you / me. Ponder that for 30 seconds. :) Yes, I get it - ' scripted ' - it just, IMHO makes no sense. The game is NOT consistent in this area at all. It would be one thing, especially with Miraak - if he too had a " cool down ", then it would make sense and be consistent in game. Just saying .... dpgillam
Hey, kid. Nice to see ya back.First off, anyone that says your play-style is wrong is an arrogant pr*ck, and you should tell them to suck it (in your own words, of course; some around here whine Im too rough) The only "WRONG" way to play is by trying to dictate someone else's fun. And dont feel bad; your not the only one to have been spam-slaughtered by dragons and Grey Beards, especially with Apollo's dragon mod (to him, thats not a flaw, its a feature! ) As for shout cool downsSkytweak lets you change just about everything in play, including cool downs.Als Shout Like a Dragon - Dragonlike Cooldowns by AlCiao, doesnt offer zero, but like many others does significantly lessen the wait.Dragon Soul relinquishment is good too, if you've unlocked all your shouts. Trade extra dragon souls for permanent buffs. Not an immediate way to reach Zero, but a rewarding one.Personally, I use Shoutcraft by Kain-Xavier, where the better your speech skill, the better your shouts are. Most mods tweak (lower) without offering actual, NO cool down. Most those that do offer zero are very old, and not recently tested. Little tip- http://skyrimgems.com/ has some of the best, well-maintained, non-buggy mods categorized by what your looking for. Give it a shot. jjb54
You made me smile, being called "KID" .. since I'm 61. But that's okay, it takes an 80+ year old to call me "kid". ;) Which my father-in-law did a lot when my wife - his daughter and I would show up, to his wife: " The kids are here...." I just went to the link, where you have: I am a TACTICIAN and found ... well ... see below.

So the military equation was the right one.
