LE dog model swap?

hey, i was wondering if someone can make a mod that swaps the dog model with other creatures of skyrim such as a wolf, bear, etc.

 

I was looking into it myself but I dont know how to get the data files to appear, and would it be as simple as renaming the texture files ?

Although I personally won't use that mod I would like to see it done. Also, I would like your dog companion to stop barking in your ear every 2 seconds.

if would you could swap the dog with the brown bear model it would be wonderful. and would the animation/sound files be modifiable as well through file name change?

Actually, I was going to do it but then I took an arrow to the knee, problem?

 

however, I'ma give ya some easy steps to do it yourself :

 

1. unpack the bsa

2. replace the dog model with said creature in the mesh folder

3. do same with the texture

4.that's all you can get for now (till they release CS or shiz)

5. there is not 5.

There's this mod: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1724. He's tried to do it with animals other than canines, but no dice. They won't animate. So, you can have a wolf of several different colors, a German Shepherd, a Husky, a Border Collie, several different elemental wolves, or a fox.

Did he replaces the animations aswell?
