GoldenDiamond945
I have played F:NV for a while with no issues. Somewhat recently, however, I got a new Hard Drive (as my first one was running out of space). I reinstalled a lot of my steam games into the new Drive, including F:NV, F3, Skyrim, and F4. And all of them went fine, except F:NV. None of the mods seem to be working. I've tried everything I swear. I uninstalled and reinstalled F:NV mulitpule times on either hard drive, uninstalled and reinstalled EVERY mod, and I'm lost at this point. I really want to get back into F:NV, but I can only do that in stock form... Ill as give as much Information as possible, I just need help. dubiousintent
Should be fixable. But need to clarify some things first. (Assumptions can come back to bite you if wrong.) 1. Did you "replace" your original drive with the new one (both were/are your "C:" drive), or add the new one as an additional drive with a new drive letter? In other words, do you now have two (or more) drives? (Sounds like you now have two drives but we need to be clear.) 2. Did you uninstall FNV first from your original drive if you replaced the drive and before you reinstalled FNV to the new drive? That is necessary to get the registry properly updated to point to the new drive. 3. Are you using a "mod manager"? If so, which one? (If you are using "Mod Organizer" then you will need to rebuild your "profile".) 4. Did you reinstall your mods or just use them from where they had been installed or a backup file? Are they installed on the same drive as the game in it's "Data" folder? -Dubious-

I deleted local content, then reinstalled on the new drive threw steam. 3. I am using the Nexus mod Manager, not sure if there are different variations or not. 4. I'm not sure. I just (this morning) completely removed FNV from my computer, and all of the Nexus Mod Manager stuff for FNV, reinstalled, and then redid the nexus set up for FNV, and I'm getting the same issue. I moved FNV to my C drive, and all the mods for NV are being installed on the C drive, according to the Mod Manager. I was about to try manually installing my mods, but saw you replied, so I decided to wait. The game doesn't tell me anything is wrong in game, except for Project New Vegas, which says its missing HUD files, and that's all I'm told in term of problems, except the obvious problem of non of the mods showing up. The only mods I tested in the reinstall was Project New Vegas (PNV), The Mod Configuration Menu, FOMM, and Unified HUD. When I was running unified HUD, it also said the HUD files for PNV was missing. I also tried leaving out PNV to see if the other mods would work, but to no avail. Any more information you need?
dubiousintent
"Deleted local content" does not mean to me the registry got cleaned up properly. You needed to use the Control Panel "Uninstall Programs" feature and then reboot to do that properly. Maybe you did, but again we are trying to be clear. You should also rename or remove the INI files under your "C:\Users\<YourAccountName>\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV" folder, so they get rebuilt. As you are reinstalling from scratch, it should not matter if you install to the "X:" drive. Just do not install into the Steam default location of "C:\Program Files" tree. That will cause problems. Create a "C:\Games" or "X:\Games" folder first, and then install to there. See the "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article in my signature. Re: missing mods. First check in the game Data folder and see if the mod files are there. If they aren't then your problem is with NMM. Check you have the latest version. There were definite problems with "missing mods" with some earlier versions. NMM issues should be taken to the NMM Beta test forum. If the mods are present in the Data folder, then you need to check the "Data Files" option from vanilla game launcher's initial menu. They need to be enabled (checked) to be "active". (A mod manager should be doing that for you.) There are alternatives to NMM, which you can still use to download files. If the mod files are present in the Data folder and enabled in the"Data Files" option, then something else is going on. Most likely it would be old INI files in your "Users" folder. -Dubious- Edited August 13, 2016 by dubiousintent

I also fully deleted the Fallout NV folder in Documents/My Games, so its a fully new FNV. My fallout NV is in the steam folder in program files however, and while this have never caused problems in the past, i'll move it and do a test. Like I said, my game was working fine with mods Until I moved it to the X: Drive.
