Just goes to show, new kids go crazy for snow....

Not surprisingly Skyrim is blowing away Oblivion sales which was a crappy game

As far as competing with itself, Skyrim's initial retail sales are up six-fold over Oblivion and will outsell the previous title in just a few weeks.

Don't like you anymore.

Lol. Skyrim has had a more substantial press and promo coverage. Not to mention the people that LOVED Oblivion and praised the next release to all their friends.

It also has dragons.

With your analogy Dragon Age 2 should have clearly outsold Dragon Age Origins which we all know wasn't the case.

Skyrim is just a better game...period. Oblivion was unplayable without mods. Skyrim is amazing without mods. but hey to each their own, sales figures don't lie

Well..... If sales figures don't lie; MW3 is a better game.

Dragon Age Origins wasn't game of the year..........

and

I'm pretty sure Skyrim will seem unplayable, bleak and desolate once a good influx of mods start coming from the CK being released.

Who thinks that Oblivion would have gotten those sort of figures if the game wasn't released at launch? Im guessing more people now have next-gen consoles compared to a few years ago (So a bigger market) and many now would only buy new games and forget those which they considered to have 'Hurrr bad grahix.' Plus add the bandwagon effect, the game being simplified and allowing people to slay dragons and i think its unfair on Oblivion, as if the games were released the other way around Cyrodil's landscape would look 10x better then the Skyrim landscape could ever look!

& Plus i never remember a Oblivion TV advertising campaign, the Skyrim one is pretty impressive even though its not even real gameplay
