I'd like to create some new face (complexion) textures...

I'm pretty okay with creating face textures (have done a hundred or so for daz3d, poser, "insert various PC games here" etc.) but beyond the graphics creation have no capacity that I know of for modding.

So what I'm looking for is to identify which texture in the game affects "complexion", to extract the raw file, make new textures using those dimensions and then to add new complexion textures to the game that don't replace anything existing.

I can handle the making textures part, but can anyone point me in the direction of the info I need to know to do the rest?

Complexion/face texture really governs a big part of the face and since we seem a ways away from body/face part sculpts I'd like to at least get started here.

Thanks for any help. :)

^^ face textures appear makeable so what I really need to understand is process and how the files in the read me can be opened in the proper program. Also how do I need to label them in the textures set to make a file that doesn't replace anything existing.

Short version - unpack the textures.bsa file to get the dds image files, get a plugin that allows you to open the dds files in photoshop or gimp. That's the easy part, the harder bit is adding them back into the game as new items.

There are a couple of tutorials on how to do that, links to them here:
