chyrotump
I was running fine. 2.1 came out. I installed it. Bad move. I've since done four clean installs after following every advice given on the TW2 website forums as well as replaced my redistributables per the advice given in the support section of TW2 support. Game says "Witcher 2 did not start because there was a problem". After several downloads of patches, uninstallations, and re-installations, I've gone so far as to physically delete every reference to TW2 in any folder in the computer, including the TW2 folder in the documents folder after uninstalling (I used a register editor to keep the register ok). I have then removed the game folders themselves and defragmented and rebooted the system before reinstalling. No dice. I tried the same but used copy and paste to install from my desktop. Same problem. I even deleted the save games and the folder. No help. Each time, of course,I re-installed TW2. The disks are in perfect order. The game worked fine until 2.1 came out, now it won't work at ANY level of installation from bare through each individual patch. I even uninstalled the .net system altogether. No joy here, either. Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper. My system is a Digital Storm on a 680i nVidia motherboard running 4 G RAM at 1066mz, a 2.4 Quad Q6600, and twin nVidia 8800GTS' (512 m each) at 960mz on SLI. All drivers are as up to date as can be located through Driver Detective and System Mechanic Professional. My registry is in order, my system is stable and runs a large number of games w/o any hiccups. So how do I get my 50 bucks worth of play out of this game? I'd like the opportunity to at least make the attempt w/o CD Projeckt Red screwing it up with less than optimally tested patches. Thanks for your assistance.
