Gene098
When people create new races to create better looking characters, what happens to the story line?Depending on the race certain story-lines unfold right? So using this logic wouldn't modders have to create another story line?Lastly will it be possible to convert the same mods from Oblivion to Skyrim? And would the same race principle apply? Would that principle be a sole reason why it is not possible to convert? Since the race story-lines are entirely different? Answers would be very much appreciated! Race just determines how NPCs react to you. Custom races have the same thing, determined by whoever made the mod. Generally its not a big change. No storylines change depending on the race you chose. Everyone says the Mod Kit isn't out yet...but mods are out already for the game so what is the mod kit?

The Construction Kit is all the advanced tools. Whats being done now is fairly basic, the really complex stuff, like custom races and the like, can't really be done yet. How long does it usually take for the really complex stuff to release? And the the mod kit an actual kit with tools we can use to create custom races?Or are they the complex mods that others make for us to use? Is the installation similar to the usual basic mods? Lastly I haven't been able to type in capital letters in the Skyrim character creation...is there something wrong with me game?

The Creation Kit is for people to make mods with. You don't need it to use mods. It will be out when its out, and mods made with it will be out when they are out. Badgering people over it will not make them be available sooner. Lastly I haven't been able to type in capital letters in the Skyrim character creation...is there something wrong with me game? I have no idea. Ask on the Skyrim part of the forums.
Balakirev
How long does it usually take for the really complex stuff to release? It depends on the complexity of the project, much as you'd expect. When Oblivion and its construction set appeared, within a month there were several different replacement systems for leveling. But large, elaborate quest systems didn't start really showing up until 6 months later. You sound really eager to get some custom races. My advice, for what little it's worth, is to set aside Skyrim for now so you won't be continually reminded of what you want and can't have. Consider playing Oblivion, or Morrowind, or doing something else. I would suspect a month from now things will be very different. :)
