SilentAegis
Hello. I have a very simple problem. Recently, I started a new character due to my previous game being so old that it was practically unplayable. Once I created a new character, I began using the console to gain my level, stats, skills, and perks back. Now, in my older game, my character could upgrade things to have a 1500 attack rating or armor rating. Granted, that character had blacksmith enchantments on him, but this character, with smithing fully leveled up, should still at least be able to smith up to a high rating, right? However, the majority of my gear can barely be upgraded to over 200. Any idea why? It can't be the enchantments, they had little boost in my skill. And I didn't add the perks using the console. I used a Dragon Souls-to-Perk Points converter and all I did was add the dragon souls via console. As I said, not a big deal, but any insight would be appreciated. bill8872
The enchantments can make that kind of difference. Without them I can never get them very high. Someone can correct me on this, but I do believe enchantments stack, so the more you have the higher the skill seems.

I must apologize for asking such a dumb question. I believe I just realized the answer. On my older character, I had a large amount of items that were enchanted to increase one handed, two handed, and bow damage. That, plus the blacksmithing enchantments, plus what you said of course, must be it.
