MShoap13
Emperor Mod (rule Skyrim) would be legendary Re-reading this little tidbit from a few days ago got me thinking... My biggest complaint with Skyrim so far is the lack of sheer epicness in the quests. I'm talking about, doing three quests to gather parts that allow you to break in, and sneak through, White Gold Tower, in the heart of the Capital of the Empire, in order to steal an Elder Scroll at the request of a timeless legend only to find out he simply wants his old life back and grants you the power to become the timeless legend, EPIC! Granted they did bring dragons to the table this time, and that in itself is pretty epic, but it doesn't bring the same depth factor as multi-part climatic quests involving characters heralded and scorned throughout the lands. That's why I propose a large quest mod that results in you becoming crowned the High King of Skyrim. In doing so you must first complete the Civil War Quests that are already part of the game, then you must prove your royal status through a series of trials and research etc., finally, you must gain the support of the Jarl's themselves. Each one should have a specific two or three part quest tied to them and their Kingdom but you should only have to complete five out of the nine Jarl's specific quest lines (leaving the other four optional). Each of these nine quests should grant you some item that comes in handy for the final quest for this mod. How they're used and in what way they're acquired (each Jarl could have a specific item, or they could be acquired sequentially/randomly/semi sequentially) would be left up to the developer himself. I understand that what I'm talking about is going to require tools that aren't yet available, a tremendous amount of time, and potentially multiple authors, and even if this exact mod never gets created I hope this inspires someone out there to give us something better than "Follow Mercer Frey through a Falmer/Dwemer ruin and kill him to retrieve one of the most unique special items in the game, just so you can put it back where it came from, because thieves have honor"... captainking87
I really like this idea, however I can see it being very hard to mod into the game. Would those fetch quests be in new ruins to be designed or areas that already exist in the game? To be quite honest, I'm kind of surprised this wasn't in Skyrim considering how much of a plot point it is that the Emperor is supposed to be a Dragonborn and you are DOVAHKIIN afterall. MShoap13
It could be done with old dungeons, new dungeons, or a combination of the both. It could be in people's houses that already exist, or additions to a guild hall. Hell, it could incorporate whole new realms/planes of existence! Oblivion really has some amazing mods out there (that literally took years for people to develop and some of them are still in development) so this type if thing really is only a matter of time (hopefully). Check out Nehrim if you've never heard of it. It's literally an entirely new game built from Oblivion's resources and new user created resources. It's got a decent following and literally thousands of mods are available just for it on the TESNexus.
