spikeddeception
So I recently downloaded Deadly Reflex Mod - the latest version - and everything else needed to run it - the patch and the... OBSE, I think it's called - both the versions needed. I downloaded the Mod and opened it with WinRAR, yet the files I need, HorsecombatMaster.esmDeadly Reflex - Combat Moves.espMountedSpellcasting.esp ... All have the "notepad" icon with the little Windows symbol in the middle, and when I try to open them, the file is unknown and cannot be found. On top of all this, I don't know what he meant by "activating" those said files. Anyone have an idea of what's wrong?
malonn
You won't be able to open those files with any standard Windows app. That's normal. The icon could be what it is (could be) because you have that icon assigned to unusual file extensions. I wouldn't worry too much about that (initially, at least). Read the readme to install the mod. It's easy. Install and play the mod to determine if you have a working copy. That's the best way to find out.
spikeddeception
That's the thing, though. In order to play the mod in-game, I need to activate those three things, and... I'm not exactly sure how to do that. Does that involve double-clicking on them, or what? I tried going in-game by just putting them in the Data / Oblivion folders, yet it didn't seem to work. (( Thanks for responding, by the way. ))
WoogieMonster
It is likely referring to activating them in the Data Files menu. Start the game 'normally' and the window pops up with the options PLAY, DATA FILES, OPTIONS, TECH SUPPORT. Click DATA FILES and you should see the mods in a list, just click to put a mark in the box next to them. That is how you activate mods.
