Mods aren't loading properly

Hey, I'm totally new to modding in Skyrim so I'm not really super sure how to get everything to work properly. The problem I am having is a lot of my mods are not loading properly and I don't know how to fix it. I tried LOOT to make sure it's all in the right load order but to no avail.

Here's a screenshot of my mods list, plugins list, and a few screenshots ingame.

Hoping we can figure out the problem :happy:

Hello,

  • <The problem I am having is a lot of my mods are not loading properly and I don't know how to fix it> I saw your pics but didn't see anything special. What makes you think your mods are not loading ? Be more specific please.
  • Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list.
  • <I'm totally new to modding in Skyrim so I'm not really super sure how to get everything to work properly> Here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game if not already been done. :

/// Load order / mods conflicts :

/// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :

  • Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page.
    Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.
    - Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.
    - Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
    - Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
    - Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
  • The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors.

/// Settings / memory :

  • Ensure you're not using redundant memory patches, such as SSME, skse.ini; crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled, or safety load. Preferably, use skse memory patch or crash fixes.
  • Memory blocks log will help to refine memory settings.
  • Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.
  • You may install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx.

/// Save game :

/// Meshes healer :

  • Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page.

/// Useful informations :

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip!

I already did try LOOT and it doesn't seem to help :/

I'll elaborate a bit more on the screenshots. I'm using Skyrim 2K Lite, Verdant and Immersive Roads and as you can tell from the screenshots, instead of better, HD roads I get none at all, and I can't see a difference between the default and the 2K textures + Verdant. I'm thinking maybe I have to install them over each other in a certain order? Also wondering if I should have SMIM installed since it gets overwritten a lot.

Edit: after checking your handy list of outdated mods, I found Immersive Roads has been replaced by Real Roads, and that actually works! That just leaves the question of my other textures now :P

Skyrim HD seems installed and loaded late in your load order. If you have used the automatic settings while starting vanilla launcher it's a good thing because it should match your specs, but it could also be your problem or a part of it. What are your specs exactly ? GPU + VRAM, (graphic card + memory).

Unfortunately I am severely bottlenecked by my GPU at the moment.

32GB DDR3 RAM

XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB

Seeing from skyrim requirements wiki, your GPU should run on very high settings. I suggest you check your inis, (see /// Settings / memory above) and start the launcher to use recommanded settings, if not already been done. If after that you experience some freeze or problems, I suggest you lower the number of mods in your load order using such textures as you have only 2 GB VRAM. Also avoid the 4k and try to apply appropriate settings in your grass / flora mod, effects, weather, ENB, etc...

That's all I can advise about this matter. Probably other people have also tips.

Yeah it's auto-set to ultra high quality. It's just a very large bottleneck when compared to the power of the rest of my components.

I'm trying to set up the mods properly, just curious now why my ENB won't work... :pinch: I'm using Spectra and for some reason I see absolutely no ENB effects whatsoever. Maybe I'm just crazy? :geek:

there's basically no reason to ever have a texture over 2k, and even then it's questionable because you won't really notice it unless you get your face actually right next to whatever the texture is. if you're using really high res textures it'll basically kill your ability to have any other script based mods working as it'll suck up all of your processing power (powerful gpu or not, simply because of the way skyrim is setup to work as a 32bit program). so you kinda need to figure out what's more important to you specifically, graphics or gameplay and stick with it. i've found, personally, that anything over 1k resolution is a complete waste because when i'm actually playing i can't tell a difference, and i'm a graphics design major and look for that kind of stuff. give lower res stuff a try and see if that helps with the performance issues. also make sure that any textures you want overwritten are high in your load order. if they aren't they'll just overwrite any changes you're making back to vanilla.

for enbs... i don't know anything really. sorry.
