ibtrigg
Title says it all, random crash to desk top, no time frame its completely sporadic, so far it has happened: In combat, out of combat (Wandering), Opening doors, and fast traveling. No specific location triggers it, nor is the timeframe the same, ive gone 10 minutes and crashed, and ive gone hours without a crash. 0 0 Skyrim.esm1 1 Update.esm2 2 Dawnguard.esm3 3 HearthFires.esm4 4 Dragonborn.esm5 5 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp6 6 Falskaar.esm7 7 Wyrmstooth.esp8 8 ApachiiHair.esm9 9 Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm10 a Campfire.esm11 b ClimatesOfTamriel.esm12 c RaceCompatibility.esm13 d SexLab.esm14 e SexLabAroused.esm15 f Schlongs of Skyrim - Core.esm16 10 EFFCore.esmHighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.esp17 11 AMatterOfTime.esp18 12 Skyrim Bigger Trees Full.esp19 13 Tamriel Reloaded HD.esp20 14 CLARALUX.esp21 15 Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp22 16 Book Covers Skyrim.esp23 17 brawlbug-plugin.esp24 18 Clanking Armor.esp25 19 ClimatesOfTamriel-Dawnguard-Patch.esp26 1a WetandCold.esp27 1b WetandCold - Ashes.esp28 1c ClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.esp29 1d ClimatesOfTamriel-Interiors-Warm.esp30 1e ClimatesOfTamriel-Nights-Level-1.esp31 1f CombatDramaOverhaul.esp32 20 Convenient Horses.esp33 21 Craftable and Placeable Havok-enabled Bedrolls .esp34 22 Craftable Arrows.esp35 23 SkyUI.esp36 24 Customizable Camera.esp37 25 Dragon Combat Overhaul.esp38 26 Dual Sheath Redux.esp39 27 CharacterMakingExtender.esp40 28 EnhancedCharacterEdit.espUSKP Patcher for RaceCompatibility.esp41 29 FCO - Follower Commentary Overhaul.esp42 2a Footprints.esp43 2b FNIS.esp44 2c Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp45 2d iHUD.esp46 2e Knightranger Archer's Armor.esp47 2f MovementandStaminaOverhaul.esp48 30 Headtracking.esp49 31 Radiant and Unique Potions and Poisons v2.0 non glow.esp50 32 RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp51 33 RND_Dawnguard-Patch.esp52 34 RND_Dragonborn-Patch.espRND_USKP-Patch.esp53 35 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp54 36 Skyrim Immersive Creatures.esp55 37 Lakeview_Extended.esp56 38 Helgen Reborn.esp57 39 SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp58 3a SoS - The Wilds.esp59 3b Civil War Overhaul.esp60 3c SexLab_Solutions.esp61 3d SoS - Civilization.esp62 3e SDO Full-LOD - The Morthal Swamp Light.espDistant DetailHF.esp63 3f Skyrim Immersive Creatures - DLC2.esp64 40 SoS - The Dungeons.esp65 41 Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp66 42 Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp67 43 FireAndIceOverhaul.esp68 44 SoS - Civilization-PatchCoT.esp69 45 Schlongs of Skyrim.esp70 46 SDO Full-LOD - Waterfall Effects.esp71 47 Run For Your Lives.esp72 48 Cloaks.esp73 49 SMIM-Merged-All.esp74 4a Frostfall.esp75 4b Immersive Patrols II.esp76 4c SDO Full-LOD - Whiterun Trundra Creeks.esp77 4d Storefront.esp78 4e RND_HearthFires-Patch.esp79 4f WheelsOfLull.esp80 50 SOS - Shop.esp81 51 Dawnstar_Fortified V 1.5.esp82 52 Dawnstar_Fortified_Expanded.esp83 53 SDO Full-LOD - Giant Campfires.esp84 54 vMYC_MeetYourCharacters.esp85 55 RosaFollower.esp86 56 PP_WindcallerPass.esp87 57 Apocalypse - The Spell Package.esp88 58 Dead Body Collision.esp89 59 RND_AnimalLoot.espRebirth Monster - SIC Patch.esp90 5a SOS - Smurf Average Addon.esp91 5b SOS - VectorPlexus Muscular Addon.esp92 5c SOS - VectorPlexus Regular Addon.esp93 5d BarenziahQuestMarkers.esp94 5e StormLord.esp95 5f Unique Uniques.esp96 60 KS Hairdo's.esp97 61 FNISSexyMove.esp98 62 TAotB - New Facial Hairs.esp99 63 SexLab Romance.esp100 64 Combat Evolved.esp101 65 dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp102 66 dD-DG-DB-Immersive Creatures EBT Patch.esp103 67 UltimateCombat.esp104 68 DSerArcheryGameplayOverhaul.esp105 69 EFFDialogue.esp106 6a UIExtensions.esp107 6b Moss Rocks - Legendary.esp108 6c STEP Combined PluginHF.esp109 6d Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp110 6e Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp All masters, and some mods that needed cleaning have been cleaned. Darkstyler35
Hello,Random CTDs troubleshoot.Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list.Verify gamecache.CTDs troubleshooting page on Reddit. depending on what's happening in game, choose the subsections that describe the best your problem. Here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game if not already been done. : /// Load order / mods conflicts : Use L.O.O.T once and click on the "sort plugins buttons".Create a wryebash patch including leveled lists.Create a merged patch with Tesedit excluding leveled listsHow things work in Tes5edit : load order / conflict looser - winner / Forwarding / adding as a master. More specifically, you may create a manual patch between two or more mods./// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page.Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.- Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.- Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.- Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.- Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close. The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors./// Settings / memory : Ensure you're not using redundant memory patches, such as SSME, skse.ini; crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled, or safety load. Preferably, use skse memory patch or crash fixes.Memory blocks log will help to refine memory settings.Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.STEP INI tweaking wiki. You may install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx./// Save game :Don't uninstall mods at mid-game, there are no clean save in Skyrim but using save script cleaner can help removing orphan scripts.New SkyrimTools, (corrupt saves topic)./// Meshes healer :Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page./// Useful informations : Skyrim requirements wiki.Skse installation : skse on steam or Manual install. (SKSE, memory and skse.ini). SKSE logs are here : C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE.Skyrim performance monitor.STEP troubleshooting page.Ensure your skyrim installation is healthy = Make skyrim vanilla again.an efficient guide to build your game : STEP.Make sure you're using the latest USLEEP.Crashdump analysis.Papyrus log is a scripts log only and doesn't cover anything else, not a crash log. ibtrigg
So after doing everything on the list above, i thought i had fixed it, but i seem to have figured out what triggers it. After applying all fixes above i fast traveled out of Morthal to Falkreath and did several quests (Mehrunes Razor) Upon returning to Dawnstar the CTD's begun again, nothing specific triggers them other than just being near Dawnstar. Still trying to troubleshoot any advice would help.
MaxShadow09
Are you using ENBoost and SSME?? Skyrim uses a 32 bits executable, and if you start installing mods, the 3GB limit will make the game crash. It could also be related to incompatibilities between mods or script errors. The engine used in bethesda games is pretty unstable.
ibtrigg
ENboost yes, the guide above said not to use SSME cause it is a "Dangerous" ModBut i will give it a try
MaxShadow09
I think the latest versions of SKSE include that memory patch, but I'm not sure. I'm using both right now. It's pretty hard to troubleshoot crashes in skyrim, the devs never gave us the proper tools to do that. The game just closes, without even saying what went wrong before crashing. Papyrus logs don't show anything useful either. My game crashes too, but I'm accustomed to it. Having ENB effects increases the chance of crashing for me. I usually start disabling some mods to make the game a bit more stable, but after a while it will start crashing again. That's the price of having more than 400 mods. Darkstyler35
<ENboost yes, the guide above said not to use SSME cause it is a "Dangerous" Mod But i will give it a try> Yes, preferably use crash fixes instead and ENBOOST may help too. <Still trying to troubleshoot any advice would help.> CTD in a particular cell / location.CTD doing a particular action. You may also try a selective loading : untick your mods by chunk of 10-20 and go to the location the game is supposed to crash. If the game doesn't load, for purpose testing you may use the save script cleaner.Good luck.
ibtrigg
For anyone looking for a solution, so far after a day of fiddling and testing... It would appear that the problem is resolved, however, it is hard to recreate as the crashes are random, to begin with. That being said I have had only one CTD and it wasn't in the area where it happened before. If you are looking for a solution to random CTDs, first and fore most if you can get away with a clean install and remod your game i would recommend doing so, just make sure when you do it you follow the S.T.E.P. guide to a T, it would have saved me so much time and effort. Now if you can't do that you should follow darstylers first post in this thread, it looks intimidating, and it kind of is but after completing all the steps i have seen a drastic reduction in CTDs to the point where its at least playable. Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it

Also thanks to the talented people I'm refering to through their arcticles / mods, who experimented such things and make troubleshooting easier for us ;)
