ToxicShift13
So i have begun having some CTDs after my last spree of adding mods, happens even on a fresh save. Specificaly when heading south of windhelm stables towards kynesgrove (anywhere from 40-60 meters south of the stables) and when approaching White River Watch (sometimes crashes a little after the bridge sometimes a little before). A brand new character also crashed in these spots. These are the New mods i have added: Natural Lighting and Atmospherics for ENB, Unbelievable Grass Two, Inside the Nebula, Real Clouds (removed as it interfered with Enhanced Lighting and FX and people have warned of various issues with it), Superior Rock Textures, aMidianBorn Book of Silence (all 5 packs), Deathbell HD, Realistic Aspen Trees, Trees HD, Static Mesh Improvements, Beautiful Whiterun, Watercolor for ENB. I have also made a couple edits to the skyrim.ini and the skyrimprefs.ini: Under Skyrim.ini i added the line "uGridsToLoad=9" under general and upped "uExterior Cell Buffer=36" to "uExterior Cell Buffer=100". Under skyrimprefs i increased 3 values: -"fGrassStartFadeDistance=7000.0000" increased to "fGrassStartFadeDistance=14000.0000" -"fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000" increased to "fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=14000.0000" -"fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=400.0000" increased to "fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=4000.0000" My load order: Skyrim.esm=1 Update.esm=1 Dawnguard.esm=1 HearthFires.esm=1 Dragonborn.esm=1 moonpath.esm=1 Falskaar.esm=1 ClimatesOfTamriel.esm=1 HighResTexturePack01.esp=1 HighResTexturePack02.esp=1 HighResTexturePack03.esp=1 ArmoredCircletsQuickFox.esp=1 Convenient Horses.esp=1 Brevi_MoonlightTales.esp=1 RealisticHumanoidMovementSpeed.esp=1 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp=1 ShShortswords.esp=1 SkyUI.esp=1 SmartCast_1_0.esp=1 VampiresHoodFix.esp=1 1nivWICCloaks.esp=1 1nivWICCloaksNoGuards.esp=0 1nivWICCloaksCRAFT.esp=0 Medusa and Drakul Armors.esp=1 Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp=1 Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp=1 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1 RGMsAlchemistsCompendium.esp=1 CookingAlchemy.esp=1 CookingAlchemyMeltingTanning.esp=1 beginnersshack.esp=1 Forgotten Windmill.esp=1 Tiny Little Living Origin.esp=1 Inigo.esp=1 Better Claws And Gauntlets.esp=1 Better Claws And Gauntlets - Dawnguard.esp=1 Better Claws And Gauntlets - Dragonborn.esp=1 Better Claws And Gauntlets - Immersive Armors.esp=1 SC_KhajiitMorphs.esp=1 Khajiit Merchants Buy Stolen Items.esp=1 moonpath_questdata.esp=1 NedhegothTheButcher.esp=1 Brows.esp=1 Beards.esp=1 Throwing_Weapons_Redux.esp=1 Throwing_Weapons_Redux_PerkTrees.esp=1 ClimatesOfTamriel-Dungeons-Hazardous.esp=1 ClimatesOfTamriel-Interiors-Warm.esp=1 ClimatesOfTamriel-Dawnguard-Patch.esp=1 ClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.esp=1 ClimatesOfTamriel-Sound.esp=1 ClimatesOfTamriel-Sound-Dawnguard-Patch.esp=1 Supreme Storms - Cot Version.esp=1 Supreme Fog - CoT.esp=1 WetandCold.esp=1 WetandCold - Ashes.esp=1 SkySight-Simply-Bigger-Trees-Slower-Branches.esp=1 RealisticWaterTwo.esp=1 RealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.esp=1 RealisticWaterTwo - Falskaar.esp=1 RealisticWaterTwo - Waves - Falskaar.esp=1 SkoomaModKidduffah v1.0.esp=1 Natural Lighting and Atmospherics.esp=1 Unbelievable Grass Two.esp=1 Grass Clipping Fix.esp=1 AMB Glass Variants Lore.esp=1 Differently Ebony.esp=1 aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp=1 Beautiful Whiterun.esp=1 RealisticWhiterun.esp=1 Watercolor_for_ENB_RWT.esp=1 SMIM-Merged-All.esp=1 ImprovedLightSpells.esp=1 EnhancedLightsandFX.esp=1 ELFXEnhancer.esp=1 ELFX - Exteriors.esp=1 ELFX - Weathers.esp=1 ELFX - Moonpath.esp=1 Equipping Overhaul.esp=1 If there is any other information that anyone could need to help me figure this out, let me know and i will provide it as best i can. Madzookeeper
messing with ugrids is usually a very bad idea, as it can seriously destroy your game stability. and adjusting that much data to load at those distances, you're probably just overloading what the game engine is capable of when you include the texture packs that you're using. if they're high res, especially on the grass, it will cause massive stability issues because the engine was never designed to handle that under a 32bit program's restrictions. but since you want this closed, i'm assuming you figured out the problem. you mind sharing what you did to fix it? Darkstyler35
Hello, I second what Madzookeeper said. In case this would help, here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game if not already been done. :CTD in a particular cell / location.Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list.Verify gamecache. You may use crash fixes and ENBOOST, see /// Settings / memory.CTDs troubleshooting page on Reddit. depending on what's happening in game, choose the subsections that describe the best your problem./// Load order / mods conflicts : Use L.O.O.T once and click on the "sort plugins buttons".Create a wryebash patch including leveled lists.Create a merged patch with Tesedit excluding leveled listsHow things work in Tes5edit : load order / conflict looser - winner / Forwarding / adding as a master. More specifically, you may create a manual patch between two or more mods./// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page.Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.- Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.- Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.- Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.- Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close. The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors./// Settings / memory : Ensure you're not using redundant memory patches, such as SSME, skse.ini; crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled, or safety load. Preferably, use skse memory patch or crash fixes.Memory blocks log will help to refine memory settings.Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.STEP INI tweaking wiki. You may install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx./// Save game :Don't uninstall mods at mid-game, there are no clean save in Skyrim but using save script cleaner can help removing orphan scripts.New SkyrimTools, (corrupt saves topic)./// Meshes healer :Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page./// Useful informations : Skyrim requirements wiki.Skse installation : skse on steam or Manual install. (SKSE, memory and skse.ini). SKSE logs are here : C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE.Skyrim performance monitor.STEP troubleshooting page.Ensure your skyrim installation is healthy = Make skyrim vanilla again.an efficient guide to build your game : STEP.Make sure you're using the latest USLEEP.Crashdump analysis.Papyrus log is a scripts log only and doesn't cover anything else, not a crash log.
