Extend the navmesh for vault 88 settlers to the other parts of the vault.

So I noticed that the settlers in my vault don't really leave the first area, mostly because I set up my trader in the pharmacy exit but she's never there if I don't TP her there with the console.

Here's a thread where some other people have noticed the same thing:

Is it possible for anyone to extend the navmesh for vault settlers to include the additional areas? Preferably contingent on the workshops in those areas being activated, or perhaps as an option through the overseers desk terminal or something, just to make sure that settlers don't go to places that are blocked off or dangerous.

But if that second part is too complex just being able to extend the navmesh at all would be great.

Working on this piece of SCHEISSE (crap), and I almost got it working and made NPCs use the WHOLE damned vault instead of pissing about the initial build area... then they got stuck where they stood, even the atrium was impossible to navigate - EVEN WITHOUT ANYTHING IN IT! So I can't fix it. Hopefully someone can... and will... and care enough to try. I am a builder primarily, and I almost fixed it, but I went for a simple solution - add an entire new navmesh that overlaps or replaces the existing one, ignoring the walls and extended the initial settlement boundaries to the entire vault area. FLOPPED.

But like I said, I ALMOST did it, so the solution may be simpler than you'd think... provided someone wants to do a simple fix. Or a big one. We'll just have to wait and see.

FRACK YOU BETHESDA AND YOUR ABOMINABLE LAZINESS!

yeah I was just reading through this and was going its not the nav mesh thats the problem really.

All the settlements the settlers will wander about a certain distance from the center marker, or if the settlement has a workshop sandbox, they will wander around the inside of that area primarily. If I remember right from what I had read while researching settlements, if no sandbox is given and no edge markers, the wander distance from the center marker will be controlled by the map marker 'discover' area (the circle around the map marker).

I've been having similar issues with Vault 88, with my game at least, they seemed to have a problem with "Atrium Door Mid Prefab" which includes the Atrium roof piece. on the second floor of my atrium side walls, they simply could not get through that doorway ... So I removed the prefab and just put in the flat Atrium Door Mid and the Atrium Roof as separate items, and 'bingo' they started using the doors and hallways ...

I think Bugthesda really screwed the pooch with the navmeshing in VT, and the overall "construct your won vault" implementation really, laziest POS software I've seen. Half the parts you actually "need" to build a proper vault don't exist (in vanilla) and there about 20 or more items that you'll probably never use,

Thank god for the modding community.
