Making your own ESP / Change default armor

FYI - using 00000000 for the value equals nothing. So the follower will be nekkid. Meaning they wi lequip anything you give them.

IIRC, there's a mod that enables oyu to fully equip Lydia - you cna take anthing from her inventory. This should be doable for others.

Other than that, I'm trying to figure out how hte change the classes/skills of character. I can use console commands to add sword skills and give them weapons - that works. But it's not default.

the problem is with making a mage. you cna give them destruction skills, but how do you give them the actual spells?

What I meant was, the DOFT seems to hold the data for the whole package, for example, the TavernWenchOutfit is actually a package complete with boots and such, you can't modify the boots as it's the same package.

Hmmm... useless you edit the package itself, it does use a formID so...

Nevermind, just tried it, TESSNIP can't find the formID, the package is uneditable.

OK I see, so when I change the DOFT to use a certain item then the boots she had before would be dumped (as part of the default package) and she would only use the single item now listed?

Tehriddles... erm, what?

You need the full path in the shortcut, for example:

C:\FOMM\Fomm.exe -tessnip

Console commands so far (addspell etc), or you can edit in a SPLO record through TESSNIP - haven't tested though, but I know it's possible as the SPLO holds the NPC spells one by one. Personally I prefer the console, it's more stable, TESSNIP is for changes I can't do otherwise.

Dumped? Nah, it comes in packages. Like eg.

TavernWenchOutfit includes = clothes + boots

ScaleSimpleOutfit includes = armor + scale boots

Boots come with the whole package, no way you can mod in default single items it seems.

Can you elaborate on step 5? I downloaded FOMM, installed it and tried to create a shortcut and was prompted with a box to type the location of the item. I went to the location of FOMM. I then typed in "fomm.exe -tessnip" without the quotes and it just made a shortcut to the folder it was in.

Can you explain where I am going wrong here?

This is what worked for me:

1.) First, open your Skyrim folder (the folder containing the TESV.exe file, inside that folder (Skyrim folder) create a new folder and name it "Fallout 3"

2.) Now copy your TESV.exe file into the new Fallout 3 folder (only copy don't move)

3.) Go into the "Fallout 3" folder and rename the newly copied TESV.exe file to "Fallout3.exe" (not the original TESV.exe located in your Skyrim dir, only the copied version inside the newly created "Fallout 3" folder.

4.) Run FOMM and when asked where the Fallout 3 game is located, direct it to this new "Fallout 3" and it should do the rest.

This worked for me, but somehow Lydia's display name in game got all messed up. I also tried using what I learned to change

FACT (TownWhiterunFaction)

FACT (HousecarlWhiterunCrimeFaction)

to

FACT (TownSolitudeFaction)

FACT (HousecarlSolitudeCrimeFaction)

but it didn't seem to have any effect, I was hoping she'd default to my Proudspire house in Solitude instead of Breezehome in Whiterun

@TehRiddles

This is what worked for me.

1) Go to the fomme directory ( ie "C:\Program Files (x86)\GeMM" on WIndows 7 )

2) Don't create a shortcut, instead clear the address bar and then type "cmd" and press enter (this should open a command prompt window set to the directory you were viewing)

3) Now in the command prompt window type "fomme.exe -tessnip" and press enter

4) Done, the program will open, select the New Vegas option then proceed as normal.

I have been trying non stop to do this, I want Lydia to move to my solitude house and have looked through everything, also tried the switch you tried but no effent. I even started looking throuhg the breezehome esp's to see if something in there ties Lydia to it but nothing so far...

p.s As for her name, it is under "FULL" just highlight the characters to the right of all the numbers and you will see the numbers to the left change with each letter typed.
