Any way to leave horse behind?

Please tell me there is some way to put my horse in the stable or leave her behind...

I keep fast traveling to areas and she gets killed. I don't want her to die. I like her.

I had just fast traveled to the estate with the bees .. .just outside it on the bridge and left her and went picking flowers... came back and she was in the river, dead. wtf... I didn't even see any enemies around when I left and I wasn't even gone long. :(

Please tell me there is some way? If not.. will there be some kind of stable mod? or a console command to revive her at least??

Thank you...

Open console, click on your dead horse. That will bring up an ID prefixed with three zeros.

Now type resurrect. Close the console.

If your horse doesn't stand up, activate and mount.

How does that answer the OP's question? That simply tells how to cheat and bring the horse back AFTER it dies. The OP doesn't want it dying.

I too would like an answer to the actual question as I'm tired of my horse running into battles. Tonight I'm going to see if I can sell him back. They really aren't necessary.

It is sad that bethesda have all sorts of "cheats" command which make the game lose 2 point out of 10..

Relevance? Cheats don't make a game worse, because they're optional and are blatantly known as cheats, meaning a player who is using said cheats is using them on purpose. If that player then complains how cheats is ruining the game, its certainly their own fault, for using cheats in the first place.

Having the horse travel with you every time you fast travel is just wrong too. I was delighted when I saw that steering the horse was 'fixed' in Skyrim. I never used horses in Oblivion because steering them was such a pain for me. I was greatly disappointed when the horse was standing beside me the first time I fast traveled though. I would like to leave it at a stables, even pay a few gold for it's upkeep, and have it stay there until I go to fetch it.

Yes, I know there's ways to manage it in the console. I couldn't get the console to accept the horse's code tho. It said that code was not found. I know I typed it right because I was staring at the code on my screen.

Anyway, I sincerely want there to be a way to stable your horse. Saying "Just don't have a horse" is not a helpful answer.

Obviously, we want to have a horse, or it wouldn't be an issue. I am an IMMERSION and ROLEPLAYING person when it comes to playing a Roleplaying game. Go figure.

As such, I spent my first 1000 gold on the horse because she was cute. I went over to see her and she dug her hoof at the ground and I just knew I had to have her. So she's my horse and I care for her. She kicked a bandit in the face and killed him once when I was out of breath. She's my faithful mount. I won't just "not have" her. The game should give me a reasonable option to stable her for my dangerous adventures. I wouldn't take her with me for those.

Anyway... thank you guys for the advice. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

Hopefully someone will make a mod for it. I wish I knew how to mod. I'd make this in a heartbeat.
