Vampiress892
Okay. First of all I'm going to explain the problem, then i'll tell you additional information regarding how i run the game and my computer information. My friend sent me Fallout (Game of the Year edition) over steam as a gift months ago. It ran fine, I finished the game did a few of the Expansion packs then I haven't really touched it since may. So few days ago I decided "Hey I never really explored fallout 3 to much, and there were a lot of side quests and interesting finds I probably missed" (Brought on by exploring New Vegas which works perfectly fine on medium setting nothing altered, same way I ran fallout 3 and still am trying to run it). So I open the game, I get passed the launcher menu and then comes the game start menu. I choose "Start a new game" and then it loads for a few seconds before I get an Error saying it stopped working and windows will notify me when it finds a solution. I downloaded the latest patch from the Bethesda site, I intergified the came cache files, I defragmented them, I deleted all my old saves. Nothing works. It still crashes and gives me the same error. I have no idea why. Before anyone asks!: I have no Mods. I never downloaded any mods, I took off the DLCS so its not a FOMM problem.Recent changes in my computer: - I have uninstalled/reinstalled Fallout 3 GOTY but it still crashes (Was suggested by every site i went on{Even though all responses said it still didn't work})- For a while Amnesia the dark descent would't work, I found out I had to manually update my Mobile Intel drives, and that was after I stopped with fallout 3 the first time (But I doubt this is it because New Vegas works perfectly)- New Anti-virus software (Again new vegas and all my other steam games still work, so I doubt it)- Downloaded the latest patch (didn't do anything to make it crash earler or help it not crash)I also run both Fallout games in windowed mode 16:9 -1440:800(biggest windowed mode for 16:9)Computer information:I have an Acer Aspire 7750G-6635. Intel core i5-2410M, AMD Radeon HD 6650M with 8GB ram and 1000GB Hard Drive (Over 700GB left free)I also use Windows 7 home premium 64bit computer. If anyone could help I'd be so grateful. I just am completely baffled because anyone else who had a problem like this always said they just bought the game. Mine used to work, but now it doesn't. Thank you to anyone who read this, even if you couldn't help or don't respond.~Vampy892 Edited November 26, 2011 by Vampiress892
