darkdesigns
So, I'm rather familiar with modding older Bioware games like Kotor and have a decent understanding of how to create, edit, and all around use .dlg, .utc, .uti and all the other basic files. I'm not really concerned with any of that. However just about every tutorial I have come across has exclusively talked about how to create brand new files for a new campaign, not edit the existing singleplayer ones. And the one tutorial I found that discussed what I wanted to know referred to PRCSCR, and frankly made me want to curl up in a little ball with how technical it all seemed. XD From what I gather, we are supposed to extract the files from the Singleplayer database (everywhere I looked people were very adamant about not 'checking out' the file presented in the list itself), however clicking "Duplicate" on a file and setting the two 'module' dropdowns to the new module I created does not seem to do anything. I get an error message telling me a file with that name already exists, and that I can't copy it. If I change the name it will allow me to duplicate the file, but not to the module I selected. It will just appear in the Singleplayer list, still. Completely useless to me, as it now has the wrong name. I suppose I'd be able to edit it and extract it, then change the name once it's in my override folder - but that can't be the easiest way of going about this. What I would like to do would be to just take Morrigan's dialogue file, and add a few lines to it. I would then like to either put it in my override folder, or have someone explain how to get it into my new module (darkdesigns), and then how to get the files in my module into the Main Campaign (and not into a brand new Campaign). Ideally, too, it would be nice if someone could explain how to make a builder-to-builder file for multiple files in a mod, so I'd be able to release that as well once I'm done. I'm sure that I can figure out how to do everything else I want to do from there. Thanks, in advance. :)
