Skyrim always stops responding during loading screens

I have only 3 mods so I don't think that's the problem.

I went into regedit and changed app kill time to 4x the normal amount and nothing changed.

This keeps happening and nothing I try ever seems to help.

I have a GTX 970

8GBs of DDR3

i5 intel Devils canyon CPU

Mod Order

GameMode=Skyrim
Skyrim.esm=0
Update.esm=0
KS Hairdo's.esp=1
CharacterMakingExtender.esp=1
EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp=1
I'm playing the Enderal mod but this has been happening for so long.
This even persisted over a clean install.

Hello,

<This even persisted over a clean install.> this is worrying, because if your game is installed correctly with only three mods and with your specs, it shouldn't be an infinite loading screen but hey. Try also starting a new game without mods.

Ensure your skyrim installation is healthy = Make skyrim vanilla again, if not already been done and test without mods, starting a new game.

<I went into regedit and changed app kill time to 4x the normal amount and nothing changed> what is it supposed to do ? Just curious.

Good luck.

how strange. This started happening yesterday with me. I cant seem to fix it. Mine does load eventually, just a lot slower. It stops responding. Ive been replaying the game running with 122 active mods with no conflicts or CTD's.

current specs are gtx 750ti oc
amd fx6300
128gb SSD.

8gb ddr 3 ram

Usually i load a place like whiterun in 5-10 seconds, but now it takes about 20 seconds if i take into calculation the spinning blue circle of not responding.

-edit-

I tried a new game, but the loading screen gives the same error. Reinstalling all mods and reverting to vanilla didn't fix anything.

well it used to stop it from hanging so quickly.

Strangely enough It seems to have stopped when when I used that gamebooster app on a whim.

Does that explain anything?

Sorry for the late reply.

School and the such.

The program is Advanced System Care's Game Booster.

Honestly I don't know what these processes are.

<Honestly I don't know what these processes are.> probably an interface to shut down processes and services in order to boost your resources such as ram.

  • You may install crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1.
  • You could invest into more RAM, 8 GB for example, and deactivate, as much as you can, program to start with windows, (those you have installed, don't play with services, bad idea) if any. If you have, a setting to define allocated resources in priority to performance rather than background proccesses and services.

Advanced system care is normally a useless utility just use CCleaner it should be able to do all the cleaning needed and disable software at start up, without destroying your system. For virus protection u should use something better not Advanced system care anti virus for sure (a lot of people that don't want to buy an antivirus use Avast Free disable it while you are playing so that you can reserve more resources to your game).

  • 4 years later...

I have had this too.

The thing is, I did some troubleshooting yesterday, after I had a lot of stutter and CTD, turns out it was the mod "moreHUD". After that i played for the rest of the day, no problem, all fine. Every once in a while there is a CTD, but I am kinda used to that by skyrim... So today, I boot it up after it was closed by CTD yesterday evening and and suddenly the Blue circle appears. At first i thought I couldn't start it at all, but I hear sound and if I wait a while, he does load. Now I just reloaded after the first death on that playsession and got an CTD. Granted, loading after death is usually where this happens, but I am now wondering: Will it again happen every time? What caused this? How worried do I have to be?

If anyone has any answers, i would be extremely grateful
