There is a mod called FC Kagrenacs Instant Fortress

In his mod you can bring any follower to the home then ask them to be you're homes cook, guard, or a guest that stays in the home.

How do you do this. I have never made a quest or a follower and have no clue where to start here. The key is the fact they can be any follower and you basically add them to the home.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here at all ... The mod I'm creating is a hotel and I want a desk npc to sell rooms, a few guards, a cook, and a bar tender. Without the npc the mod will be very hollow.

Making a follower is pretty easy if you're alright with simple conversation. Once you put them in game, you can just walk up and ask them to follow you.

These two video tutorials helped me the most:

NifSkope is a great help to making sure you get the right texture files. If you don't want to customize their appearance this much, you can just make one in the Creation Kit. Load up the Actors, right click and Add New. Just remember to export their face data with CTRL+F4.

I'm currently on making a quest to obtain my custom follower, so I can't help you too much on the quest bit.

This is the current tutorial I'm following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kXJ7BWQl-c

Just remember that CK has been updated since some YT videos and things have changed. Like before you can start scripting you need to extract the scripts. I just found that out >.<

I'm sure you could also duplicate one of the inn npcs and alter them or just use their AI packages too.

The thing is in the fortress you can bring in any follower ... So, I'm not looking to create any followers but more how to get them to do what he did in his mod.

You can once they are in the fortress ask them to stay then select what you want them to be ... like the cook, a guard, a guest ...

Thank you for the reply however.

I suspect you are going to have to make creative use of packages such as force greet, follow (various) and say after you have dismissed them as a follower and given them a job. I guess you would have to use scripting to give them the relevant packages for whatever job you allocated. Beyond me at the moment but I will follow your progress!

I'm starting to think he made some type of package like you said, then somehow swapped that with the follower you add to the job. The guy did a total of 3 mods the last being the fortress. The 2 others are follower mods.

Looked into this quite a bit and somehow for someone who don't seem to have many mods out he pulled off some kind of magic here. Figured he must have seen a tutorial on this someplace. I was hoping someone just knew of

the tutorial or how to do this. Got to be one of the coolest adds to a player home I've seen yet.
