Hello,

 

could someone help me to get into modding or is No Man's Sky a bad game to start with..? I'm not good at creating models and textures, but i would like to program.

I saw for example the NMS Extender and read a bit of the source code - don't even know most of the methods they used there. Of course this is a big project, but maybe i could write little plugins for NMSE.

Didn't write "real" programs yet - only basic courses with Delphi 7, C in school, C++ and Java in university.

Any suggestins so far?

Sony does not approve 'cause they want to sell DLC and they really fear what modders community can do.
It's pretty sad. But I hope can crack this game and use our own 3D Models and textures ... one day :)

Is there a list of the content of the .psark files? It would be really annoying the decompile them all in order to find a specific texture, file, etc.

You can use * in quickbms and it will make a nice folder tree with hex folders containing a file with the contents of the psark by that name.

You can then use mbincompiler to make xml of most of the mbin files.
