knownalien
All of my folders (in the main data folder) that should be folders are BSA files. ??? I added mods and they are in the data folder, but they are actual folders and I am clueless how to install the mods. I installed the game from a disc. I knew how to do this with MW and OB, but am stumped here.

groundunit
The question is, is it supped to be like this. My folders too, are .bsa
STSG
I see no issue here. Original files are stored inside of the bsa files (can be extracted if needed). The game will load those found in the foulders over those in the bsa files though, so simply putting the modded files inside the appropriate (real) folder installs the mod (granted we talking about meshes, texture, sounds, etc mods, not esp files). Well, at least that's how i understand it works. Edited November 27, 2011 by STSG

So putting the file in the Data folder (i.e. .dds) it will load automatically? a file structure as in: C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\textures\landscape\mountains\mountainslab01.dds not actually inside the textures.bsa Edited November 27, 2011 by groundunit

STSG
Short answer: yes. Long answer: yes, it will if I understood you correctly (i.e. placing mountainslab01.dds in C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\textures\landscape\mountains and not directly in C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data) Edited November 27, 2011 by STSG
knownalien
or does it go in the folder called "sourcemods"? In program files, I only have a steam folder that contains skyrim. Where am I writing the new directory? what should it's filepath be? I have MW and OB installed in beth's folder, but not Skyrim.
