disi30
Hi, Can you think of something special a faction could offer to the player as a member? Some examples:You can become a member of the Thieves Guild to make your bounty go away and use fences as Nightingale. You can become a member of the Dark Brotherhood to have never ending radiant quests as the Listener.Become a Volkihar vampire or Dawnguard to get a nice keep/castle to live in. In all factions you can recruit followers and use the facilities. The Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are somewhat special in their services. How about a decline in rank over time?If you don't do a task for the guild/faction every once in a while, you lose a rank and some privileges with it. HalloweenWeed
Actually I intend to be a Forsworn in my future playthrough, and non-Dragonborn, but there are no advantages, instead there are plenty of disadvantages, I suppose that technically falls into the category of "something special," but perhaps not the way you intended to use that phrase. I think Skyrim is too easy, even on Legendary, and so disadvantages would give me more of a challenge (I have talked about it in somewhat recent posts). jjb54
There is no specific " benefit " of any faction, 2/b honest. As good a game as Skyrim is and it is a very good and fun game. It suffers from, the " great potential " syndrom. 1 of the things that just left me amazed as in seriously disappointed, was the no small let down I felt, after defeating Alduin .... When I returned to Skyrim, it was like ... ' oh, okay .. you just defeated the " world eater " ... Good job, thanks for saving our ... " Wait, one does not even get a " good job " or " thanks ". Falk Firebeard gave you a better " thanks " for killing the " Wolf Queen " and the Jarl of Whiterun gave you more of a " Thanks " for saving Whiterun from the dragon attack. Don't get me wrong, I still very much enjoy SKYRIM ... it just has serious lacking in the game, where they could have done at least a " bit more " than they did. Plummsmods
Sorry OP not creative enough to think of anything extravagant. But I really like the factions in this game. Especially the companions. I wish that quest line was more rewarding. Also wish there was more of a fame system like fable
csbx
Here are some that come to mind--some of these aren't actually in the game but could potentially be added via mod. Belonging to a given faction could:-teach you recipes [crafting new items / weapons; cooking new foods, particularly for needs mods]-grant you free / cheap skill training-grant you access to a new quest-grant access to secret / locked location-grant new functionality: e.g. a hunting faction could teach you how to 'trap' - see Hunting in Skyrim mod that started to develop this.-grant new 'powers': see Frostfall/Campfire's 'sense' power, and Hunterborn's 'sense direction' power (both given to player too easily IMO)-unlock dialogue for members of that faction--e.g. more back story, if interested-better trading / bartering rates-trading / bartering at any time of day

For me a full membership means:1. you get the starter gear2. you get the same abilities3. you should be able to make yourself one of them Companions, they can make you a werewolf.Vampires, they make you a vampire.Thieves and Dark Brotherhood, you get the gear. HalloweenWeed
I also like if the dialogue changes, reflecting the status of your membership. Just FYI: I believe that would require a script mod, and thus any playthrough save would be dependent on that mod for the rest of the game. I don't mean to alter the exiting dialogue, but add to it for NPC in said faction.A new Quest to hold random banter with something like:If player is in faction -> say this (random) They would still say their normal stuff + whatever you make them say with the new quest. The further you progress in the faction, the more dialogue opens up. For random faction npc only, no quests should be touched.
