xOMGxITSMEx Posted November 27, 2011 Share Posted November 27, 2011 Hey guys, i have been playing skyrim quite a lot now, but i decided to finish the storyline apart from the sidequests now. I have just completed the quest Alduin's Bane and have now started the quest Season Unending where i have to speak to the jarl of Whiterun. But the problem is, the jarl is not Balgruuf, but Vignar now, since i completed the Stormcloak questline, and whenever i enter dragonreach and walk up to the jarl, he starts attacking me without any reason. I don't have a bounty on my head, i'm pretty non crime overall, does anybody know how to fix this or do i have to start over? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
edclist Posted June 18, 2012 Share Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) I'm having a similar problem. The rebellion is over, the Imperials won. I'm completing the companion quests but when I return from getting the heads, as soon as I walk in to the companion hall he starts attacking. He's not jarl in my story.. Everyone jumps to my defense and beats him down till he collapses. His red dot disappears from my HUD and everyone goes back to normal. Then he gets back on his feet and goes hostile again. Rinse and repeat. I ignore him, go off and do another companion quest but when I return he goes hostile at the funeral. This time Bril dies, didn't see who did it. Even his brother beat him down at the Skyforge. He never dies though. So I finished off the companion quests and I return from that tomb way up north. I go looking for Vignor to see if that fixed the glitch. He's not in the hall but when I come out he's at the bottom of the steps. A guard nearby shouts at me to disarm so I can be arrested but Vignar goes hostile, the whiterun guard shoots an Imperial guard across the square, Lydia beats the crap out of Vignar and everyone goes back to normal, the Whiterun guard will now assist me rather than arrest me and life is getting weird. Boy, the shifting alliances. Can't keep track of who's on who's side any more. If it wasn't for trying to get a quest flag to drop I probably would have ended up supporting the Stormcloaks and life would be much different. I think this is one for the unofficial patch. edclist Posted June 18, 2012 Share Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Crap, sorry. Didn't even think about it. BTW it's no longer a problem. I don't know what I did but he's no longer hating me. Though one thought comes to mind. I was asked by one of the guys in the other family what side I was on in the feud.
