cazaam
Hello I have a slight feeling that this problem has been tackled before, but what the hey. I found it slightly weird how tamtriel is supposed to be a large country, yet i can run from one end to the other in 3 days. and how their are so few people, and most of them not even proper citizens (bandits, maraurders etc). i understand the diffulcty of creating a huge island and several thousand npcs, but surley, something like the imperial city where the houses take up a whole tenth of the district, could include more people and proper towns could be situated across tamriel for realism purposes. Just give me feedback and/or links to mods only if they're below the 2 mb margin or there abouts. :thanks: i like beef teriyaki noodles! ninja_lord666
Oblivion can't handle much more than about 10-15 NPCs in a single cell. If the game producers but a few hundred in each district, I wouldn't be surprised if it literally blew up the computer. Cyrodiil is a proper size, you're just runnning too fast, seriously. In Oblivion, the player can run at completely inhuman speeds.
LoginToDownload
To further clarify, you're not running through all of Tamriel, just Cyrodiil, which is a province of the former.
WoogieMonster
If the relative emptiness bothers you, there are mods to alleviate the issue: Crowded Citieshttp://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6665 Crowded Roadshttp://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4820http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4805

twrdrockfan
I haven't tried the crowded cities mod, but crowded roads works great. I use the 23% version of it, and I usually see at least a couple people walking the roads. Or if not the people, proof they went by, like a dead bandit or wolf. Sometimes I forget how the script works, and stumble across a whole cell worth of dead travellers and cautiously look around for what killed them all. Frankly I recommend Crowded roads for anyone who likes a stealth character. Respawning murder/mugging/pickpocketing fodder. If you don't play that way, at least your roads will be a little friendlier.
xenxander
It's just a performance and FPS issue with PCs. this is why cities are in different cells (Unlike Morrowind) and why they had to take out Levitate (though in-game one NPCs says there was a Levitation ban, explaining why the mage guild doesn't sell it). It's just a real-world limiting factor, so just understand that. Edit:ahh yes about your running speed. I never use mounts any longer, becasue with halfway decent acrobatics and with speed up to 80+ you can outrun any mount other than a black and with 100 speed, you're more swift (or so it seems) than shadowmere.
