Unique Save State Loading Bug

First, thank you for reading. I am having an issue where I cannot load any other save state from an actively loaded save state. So, I can load any save from game start menu, but once in an active game, any attempt to load another save state, or even the same one, results in ILS or CTDs.

 

No single save seems to be "corrupted," they just can't be loaded from an active game. Why? I can back out to the main menu again, but cannot further load a save from there after the first one.

 

I have fewer than 139 mods, all cleaned up, and without any errors in load reporting. NMC's medium textures. I am not getting memory leak crashes. I use 4GBNV, NVSE, NVSR, Zan AutoPurge, NVAC, and this is the log:

I've not heard of this particular problem, but notice that you have several mods (including DarnUI) that affect the UI. Any mod that installs XML files (which means any affecting the HUD, UI, Menus. or Controls) is highly dependent upon the "install order", and can cause problems with other controls. That is essentially what you have here. Please see the wiki article "HUD-UI-Menu Issues" and see if that doesn't help.

Thank you, Dubiousintent, but as I went to that link, the fixes there are for problems such as "Problems with controls, HUD appearance, Pip-boy, Target Aiming, or menus in general".

 

I don't have any issues like this at all. All those things work well. It's that I can't load other save states from active save states anymore. Queued, who developed NVAC, seems to think the log is referencing a mis-allocation occurring in the Heap protocol. I don't understand yet how I might be able to adjust and fix this.

That looks like the NVAC log. It's pretty uninformative to anyone but the author. I've got a couple of those "script 'Expression Error: SYNTAX'" messages as well. They aren't causing me problems with loading saves, so not likely the source of your problem. (They might be related to the version of NVSE you are using.) Heap mis-allocation is another issue.

I pointed you to that HUD-UI-Menu article because the inability to get a particular vanilla control function (Load) is a UI feature unrelated to NVAC. That only one menu function is not working just means you are lucky; not that you don't have a menu problem. Then again, you might not. We are looking at probable causes. It's not always just one thing.
