ZurinArctus85
I've noticed that Skyrim doesn't like my environment maps. I took a look at some existing ones and copied them almost completely and yet the creation kit still throws "missing set texture: name_of_texture_e" error in my face. What's the difference between _e and_em, and why do Skyrim meshes put them in the same slot if they're different? From what I understand _e is like a cubmap and _em is just a simple reflection map. Also, what compression should I use for textures?_d =DXT3/5_g =DXT1_msn =?_e =?_em =DXT1 Edited August 21, 2016 by ZurinArctus85
thumbincubation
With the caveat that I'm still an amateur, and hoping that someone more experienced will come along with information, here are a few tutorials I used when I first started. Hopefully they'll be of some help to you. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php?title=GIMP:_Quality_Normal_Maps http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?154090-DDS-Texture-compression-resources https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/214873-correct-dds-texture-compressionformat/
