Bael
When you break a weapon, why is it still whole? In lord of the rings, Sauron was defeated by a broken blade.Hence if you break a blade then you should still be able to use whats left of it, right? And there should be pieces left around that you would have to retrieve to repair it.I am aware that this would be an exeptionally tough mod to make, but our modding community is awsome. There has to be someone up to the task. Anyway, back to mindless kleptoism.
Xeniorn
It's not really that much a problem. But it's too much work for something that doesn't really add much to the game, and it would be script heavy. You'd have to make a few extra models for each weapon (or at least for every group of weapons - like glass swords, ebony axes, etc.), the broken, usable weapon model and the shard models. That's quite a lot of work. But you'd have to use a script to destroy the weapon in your hand and put a broken one in its place, scatter the shards, then you'd have to script the repair process for it to require the player to have shards (or raw material). Also it seems to me pointless to do without making some other adjustments. Like repairing weapons using only a repair hammer in a cave or in the forest, without using a furnace and with armourer skill 5 - practically you don't know how to repair weapons yet you are able to do it even without proper tools. It's a good thought, a good idea but in my humble opinion, cannot be done well enough to be worth it.
