Hello, still kind of new here. I'm curious what the the difference is when downloading files if you choose manual install or just click on the name of the file above next to the magnifying glass icon. When would I want to choose one or the other?

Second, I usually buy parts on Amazon, is there a better deal out there somewhere? I would look myself but I become overwhelmed easily with so many choices.

Third, When it comes to reading stuff, due to ADD, I struggle with trying to read from a screen. I like to be able to write notes in books and I'm wondering if anybody struggles with the same thing. If so, and I could probably find this one myself, if I wanted to print out a large read me,(I actually want to print out a tweak guide from that guy's website)are there cheap print services online that could do it.

With that being said, does anybody recommend any tried and true PC whatever instructional manuals?

Manual download works for any mod and any game. But then you must manually manage and manually install that mod yourself.

The install with NMM ONLY works with those games that are supported my NMM. It automatically downloads the mod into your NMM and all you have to do is activate it in NMM for it to be in the game. Not all mods will work using this method, but most mods for supported games will have this option.

For computer parts, New Egg or Tiger Direct in the US are both good options. IMHO New Egg is better than Tiger because of their more customer friendly policies.

There are thousands of PC 'whatever' instruction manuals. You will need to be more specific. And many people seem to prefer poorly edited and poorly narrated youtube instruction videos because they just don't like to read. :pinch: I much prefer written instructions, printing out an instruction manual can get expensive though.

Thanks for responding. I'm referring to a "PC for Dummies" type book but not necessarily from the Dummies series but something more like a desk reference that I can refer to for troubleshooting rather than having to search online for. I was never taught how to use a computer correctly so I'd like to unlearn some bad habits and learn some good habits. I was never really a techie type but I realize that in order to use a computer better I need to educate myself. Modding games seems like the inroad for me to expand my knowledge as it's the one thing about computers that I've always been interested in. I also wonder if most of the questions people ask on forums or the "plz help!!" Panic type scenarios are just basically from impatient young people that aren't as savvy as they think. I don't want to be one of those people.
