Hermsmegerms
I'm not sure if this was answered, but i was having the same issue after moving steam to my new hard drive, I knew how to fix it because at my job we get issues like this when customers move our program, all you need to do is delete the app data folder for nexus manager. (This can be found by navigating to %username%/app data/ local/Black_forest_gaming/ open that folder and you will see NMM app data files)  Deleting this will cause the program to rebuild the app data files next time you launch it. That will correct its pathways. NMM will re-scan for your games when you do this, don't worry, your mods are still installed same as they were before. I hope this helps some one having this problem like i was EDIT: appdata is a hidden folder, to get into app data open start and search for %appdata% and hit enter, it will default to your roaming folder make sure to go back to the local folder in app dataAlternatively, show hidden folders in "folder options" and navigate to it manualy Edited August 16, 2014 by Hermsmegerms

Voidsbane
Hey I'm a noob too and I have the same problem here, I have decided to delete and re download the manager and then use the correct file directory instead of the default one, I haven't tried it yet ill post the results tomorrow. Also I watched a few videos and it all says put it in the common folder not the downloading :p

xshinenx
So im just having this issue now. I have used NMM on skyrim and I had no issues. At the time I had windows 7. I just recently upgraded to windows 10 and am downloading NMM for dark souls 2 SOTFS. So I open up NMM and it finds dark souls 2 but then it asks me to setup the file paths. The default location it has set for my Mod Directory is C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\DarkSouls2\Mods and for my Install Info the default is set to C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\DarkSouls2\Install Info and these locations don't exist on my computer. So clearly I need to find the right locations to set as the default but this is not working for me. I guess that according to this forum, the issues that i am having are the issues someone would have if they download the game illegally? If so then all of my steam games are downloading into the wrong location and I have never change my download location. If this is my issue then tell me where I am suppose to set my download location to, so that I can at least re install the game so that it is recognized by NMM. Alkmayix
I too am having this issue now, however with Skyrim Special Edition I had it rescan for my game's directory (which is on an external HDD since my main one is too full) it finds it no problem with the rescan but then it pulls up the error of being unable to find my skyrim.esm as if my game isn't installed. Not too sure what to do at this point. Would a reinstall work, or no?
