I got XCOM-EU and XCOM-EW, everything is fine (as you can see here : http://imgur.com/TcPcnb6 )

However, when I tried to run the file "Long War EW 1.0 for PC-88-1-0.exe" which I got from the main site, it failed (The version of this file is not compatiable with the version of windows you are running, etc etc...).

I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit OS. .NET Framework 4.6.2 is installed, anti virus is deactivated. Is there anything else i could do, or the mod just won't run with my OS?

LW will install and run on Win7 64-bit. I just downloaded and ran it up to where the installer script started just fine on a similar system. If it was incompatible it shouldn't have gotten that far.

Error messages are often a "best guess" approximation message, so it might actually be something else preventing it from running. First check you have moved XCOM from the default Steam install location of the "C:\Program Files" tree, as laid out in the "Basic Guide to installing mods" wiki article. That is a MUST for XCOM mods in general and LW in particular.

If the problem persists, best to take it to the LW forum. But be sure to include the information requested in the ReadMe docs. The developers don't even check here for problems anymore.

I will try - but my installer failed to start at all, so I don't even have any related information to give.

On an related note, my XCOM folder is already moved (manually) to C:/Program file (x86), but it's still failed to run.

Thanks for answering anyway.

"C:\Program Files" is used by the system for 64-bit programs. "C:\Program files(x86)" is used for 32-bit programs. They are both protected as "system folders". Move your game to some other root folder, like "C:\Games". See the link "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" in my signature for details.
