haints
You can pretty much blame all of Skyrim's issues on consoles. You have to remember that this game was made for a console that is SIX years old. Not only that it, was made with cheap overclocked parts, which is why it overheats so much. The PS3's specs are a joke as well. I would have rather waited for Skyrim to come out whenever the new consoles are released. This game would have been so much better than it is currently. It's only using a triple core clocked at 3.4 and 512mb of memory. The 8800's weren't even released yet when the 360 was launched. That means it is using a graphics card that cannot be any better than the 8 series cards. Imagine trying to play a game maxed out on a computer with that same build. I see what you're saying, but wasn't Oblivion made in the same circumstances? Ragdoll physics in Oblivion were/are 10 times better than what I see in Skyrim (especially after they were modded.) Tardivex
I usually just decapitate everyone. I pay more attention to the rolling head rather than the body, so I haven't even noticed that animation.Me too, and the decapitation animation with my dual-war axes is so awesome, it remembers me of a scene in Spartacus: With Blood & Sand, in wich he does the same thing to decapitate the guy

It could have been a cut back to further optimize the game because of the new graphics. Regardless, console limitations are written all over Skyrim and it's sad. Bethesda should have waited another year for the new consoles to come out before releasing Skyrim. Edited November 29, 2011 by jordanLoL

There is no indication that there will be a new generation of consoles comming out anytime in the near future. The only one thus far announced in the Wii U, which by all indications will still have inferior power to either the PS3 or the Xbox 360, but will feature a range of interface capabilities currently limited to handhelds. In fact, a report released in 2009 indicated that the current generation of consoles was likely to persist with minimal changes until 2015 at least, due to limitations in developing technologies. In order to increase the capabilities of the consoles under the same advancement expectations of previous shifst (PS2-PS3 for instance) it would require either a radical reformation in computer sciences, or doubling the size of the console its self. Furthermore, investments into the technology and development of a new generation of consoles, under the same advandement expectation model, would likely cripple a company like Nintendo, while severly limiting both Sony and Microsoft throughout the developmental period, and if they flop, could destabilise those companies as well. Yeah the animation sucks and with other PC/console cross over titles having ragdoll physics I think that eliminates the console as the problem. My personal feeling is it was an attempt by Beth' to add a more cinematic felling to the game(same for the kill move scenes) Which ultimately fail and add a sense of hand holding through the game. jordanLoL
I was under the impression that since the Wii U was announced that Sony and Microsoft would announce something soon. If it takes until 2015 for new consoles to be released, the PC side of gaming is going to be pretty crippled. Almost seems pointless to invest in the latest and greatest hardware now.
