yeah the story is beautiful but i don't know if the quests or the amounts of hours to complete/explore everything are the same i think Enderal has a smaller amount of stuff to do compared to normal Skyrim.

really they put bethesda to shame so much more depth and story.

this shows that tailored game story worth so much more then "so" called open world concept which is total empty in skyrim.

Well I can't argue with the kudos for Enderal, but I can argue the comparison:

Skyrim playtime for me has been in the thousands.

However, thanx for the word, I look forward to trying it out, as soon as I finish my current playthrough.

Not to take anything away from Enderal which is phenomenal for all the right reasons, but: you need to consider that bethesda is in it to make money and they cannot afford to spend forever on a game, whereas the enderal team essentially (i.e. not to the same extent) wasn't under time pressure.

 

It is akin to comparing a dungeon mod some mod author has made over the course of a year to a vanilla dungeon. The latter may have been made by a professional, but they were making it while having to meet a deadline, as one of many tasks, whereas the modder could take as long as they wanted until they deemed the dungeon finished.

 

That being said I, too, think that Enderal's world design is A LOT more enjoyable than Skyrim's. It manages to be/feel huge while simultaneously being very detailed and diverse. Skyrim is neither particularly huge, nor particularly detailed, nor particularly diverse.

30h is the playtime for the main quest. How many hours does Skyrim's main quest have? 5?

that's the point right here.

skyrim is like sandbox no direction, no goal all dungeons feel and taste the same.

 

ain't it just better to have smaller but more personal material in the end without a road to nowhere!.

The Skyrim.esm is modified by the mod create a thread on Skyrim Mod Troubleshooting if u want help to fix issues.

I keep hearing that Enderal has its own .esm, yet, when I install it there is still a Skyrim.esm and no Enderal.esm

 

Yes, I used the installer and so on. Got no opening sequence, just music and black screen after clicking for a new game

 

just copy your skyrim into a other directory remove skyrim from the steam launcher copy your profile from nexus mod maniger just in case.

and install Enderal from a clean skyrim this gives you a opportunity to play both and mod both.

Why, 30h - per https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=9859 and my own experience from the vanilla first playthrough (expert/ master difficulty) corroborates that. Not particularly due to lengthy unskippable scenes, but despite (bounded) level-scaling, it's either preparation or perspiration (caused by frequent save reloads...).

 

And Enderal? Not to take away any of the faults of vanilla Skyrim, but it's like comparing Lovecraft and Karl May novels. The former, for all his influence, I never read so much. The latter, I wouldn't dare say there's a lot of depth there, but I cherish the memories of getting up early in the morning so as to read them when I was a child.

Yeah... Ultimately, after playing a bit of Enderal, i can confidently say that they are very different games. It's like trying to compare Wild Hunt with Skyrim, or Command and Conquer with Starcraft. Just because they have superficial similarities, or are the same genre, doesn't mean they can be flatly compared to eachother.

 

At the end of the day, Enderal takes a significant amount of Bethesda's work, and focuses on a rather narrow vision. They tell a story, set in a world, rather than giving you a world full of stories. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and they have done a marvellous job, but what they did is something quite different than what Bethesda does. That's not to say that Bethesda doesn't have significant room to improve on what they do, but saying that Enderal puts Bethesda to shame, while doing something different, is not really an appropriate appraisal of things.
