xxxsleepyxxx
Ok is this just a problem on my end, cuz ive not seen this mentioned, or is it like daylight in dungeons for everybody? I've not had use a torch or light spell and i have just been plowing thru dungeons without a bit of fear because i can see EVERYTHING. If i turn the brightness down, then daylight is way too dark. What settings can i change that will make dungeons and night time darker? I wanna get a bit scared in skyrim dungeons like i did in oblivion :P
Handofbane
I am running on standard brightness, unaltered from default setting, and am in the same position. I have not needed a torch or nighteye-type spell/effect even once.
Tirick
I've had this exact discussion with a friend who plays Skyrim on the XBox. He is constantly using torches and light spells. I've not had to even once. I think the brightness in-game on the PC might be off. Tirick
MonsterMonkey
Try the shadow enhanced enb serie http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=822It is a fanstatic way to enhance lighting effects believe me my GPU is Geforce GTS 450 wich is good but not overpowered, and i was afraid to put this mod, anyway i tried it and...OMFG What a surprise the game is way smoother, it's like i liberate the beast so i can run the game on ultra settings and still it's smooth, now thats enhancement. And grafically speaking days are brighter but colours got a better look, all nights, interiors at nights and cave are darker but still you can see it's just that torchs and fire really do the enlightment it feels a little like deadspace sometimes and it enhance the desaturation at night so flames are still colored the glow effects and glow maps are better and the sunglare and daysky is perfect. So it gives nights and day a better lookingAnd it make my game run even better i had a boost of fps i dont know why but this mod is a visual enhancement and a performmance enhancement. It really breaks immersion and makes dungeons boring to me.

The other day I found the shack where Meeko and his "friend" used to live: I had to use magic light to see anything, first time in over 150 hours that I use anything like a light source to check around!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me, that mod totally changes everything! Now, when I ride Shadowmere at night, I really have some problems to recognize wolves and tigers between the grass and trees. Forests are dark, rainy days are really depressing as they're meant to be, and bright days are freaking bright!!! Caves have lost their bad habit to be lighten up like theres some kind of spotlight that follows me. It totally changed my immersion!!! ^o^
Raddra
Honestly I felt cheated on my Khajiit for this reason, and un-immersed on all my other characters. All dungeons, even ancient sealed tomb's.. are fully bright with lit candles and torches every 10ft, its ridiculous. Hoping for a proper dungeon darkness overhaul mod! [edit] Will try out that enhanced shaders mod. Edited December 6, 2011 by Raddra
RomeoJGuy
Don't use a Graphics injector to make your dungeons darker.... it is the wrong way... It will only affect the visuals and so the AI will not be affected by the dungeon being darker and so will still find you easy as pie if you are sneaking somewhere that the game considers to be brighter.
