Play as a customized robot!

I think it would be pretty cool once you reached the level requirement to start the automatron DLC and after completing the quest line there could be an option to "modify" your own body. Basically build a bot that becomes your own body and you can change it's parts by stepping inside the robot workshop, clicking on the terminal and there being an option for your self to edit.

If you use parts with hands you can use ordinary guns and such but if you add like a minigun or something then it's a permanent held item. There would need to be alterations of course for duel wielded weapons and the shoulder weapon attachments. hotkeys would need to be assigned to each weapon. I don't know how the codsworth body with the lower 3 arms would work but I have seen crazier things done before.

Ammo could be unlimited I guess, but I know each weapon attachment does require some kind of actual ammo in the game so it could be limited to. Reload animations wouldn't really need to be made since most of that would be handled inside the body of the robot?

Animations would need to be made for things like moving fast (sprinting) using different robot leg parts. The treads would be pretty easy, the flying part could be easy too as all you would have to do is give the body a slight forward tilted while you "sprinted", but the legs could be tricky I suppose.

Jumping would be easy to do with the flying part, but treads or wheels you could just put a mini jet burst underneath to give it that little jumping effect. You would take no fall damage I would imagine as a bot so you could use a similar effect the power suites do when landing. the flying part could have no effect and animation or just glide down slowly maybe?

I think the only robot part that wouldn't be usable would be the sentry wheels since you can't fit in tight spaces with them unless a separate animation could be made for it to work like they squeeze a little closer together (resulting in you being a little taller) in tight areas. But would be easier to not let them be an option.

Immersion would be an issue too, so an option to switch back to your normal body would need to stay of course but I'm not sure how that could seem "immersible".

UNLESS, rather then the robot being your actual self, its remote controllable. Essentially just do everything with the robot body with all the things I mentioned above but technically your not a robot your self so it kind of remains immersive when you talk to npcs. Just assume they knew your controlling a bot from far away. ;D

Either way, I built a badass codsworth and wish I could play the game in his body. lol
