I've recently got this issue with Nexus Mod Manager for Skyrim.

My NMM doesn't show any mods in the Mods tab at all. I've went into the NMM's mod file location and saw there's still stuff there, even in the cache. I am not sure how to make NMM "scan or look" for these mods. I've tried copy and pasting like a complete idiot - cause it was later on i realized it was the temp folder and it didn't do s***. The stuff that used to be in the plugins tab is still there though, I wonder if that counts for anything or not. Do let me know if you need anything like screenshots of the interior of files for NMM as I would very much appreciate any help. Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

 

Edit: Tried using the back up feature, but to no avail. I probably didn't even back up my data...

What I think caused this issue was when my computer went force sleep. It's complicated so do bear with me, my laptop runs on a lithion battery, you can full cycle charge a lithion battery, I learnt that the hard way so when my laptop's battery hits 3% it will force sleep. And the downloaded mods via NMM is in my external hard drive disk so I am guessing some technical problem happened there. Most of the files on my external hard drive disk become erroneous, including other games like DoTA 2.

Your NMM installation might be corrupted try reinstalling NMM in another directory without modifying the old one to see if it can restore your mods. Put the path of the old install info, downloads and mods folders into the new NMM installation, (old mods should still be installed inside the data folder so if NMM doesn't work and you decide to redo everything remember to clean your skyrim Data folder).
