headbomb
In oblivion, there was this guy that basically took every mesh, and ran them into a little program called PyFII (http://pyffi.sourceforge.net/). http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23178 This resulted in MAJOR FPS gain, especially on lower end system, at zero visual quality loss. 1) Is something like this possibly with Skyrim?2) If so, could someone batch-process the Skyrim meshes? It would be quite the popular mod. Edited November 28, 2011 by headbomb

jimhsu
It would seem that this (specifically about the meshes produced by the exporter) would be less beneficial now because meshes now are NiTriShapes instead of strips. Could be wrong though.
headbomb
Any gain is a gain. Even if it's 3-4 FPS, I'll take it.
phayze81
Agreed! I spend most of my time between 15 and 20 FPS (usually on the lower end). In some areas with lots of lighting effects I drop to single digits. >_< I'll take anything!
