thingemiebob
f12 does nothing, prt scrn does nothing, nothing to clipboard nothing to file, good luck man and I would recommend not installing fraps it slows your fps down a fair amount, I've given up with it and trying snapshots. LAntorcha
How to Take a ScreenshotTo take a screenshot, all you need to do is press the printscreen button (PrtScr) which is located in the top right area of standard North American keyboards. When you take the screenshot, you'll notice a short, one second pause in the game. This will save your screenshot in the game directory. It should be located in the Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\ folder, which should be in C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\ unless you have installed Steam to a different directory. (Mine is just in C:\.)If it doesn't seem to be taking any screenshots, try checking Users/(username)/My Documents/My Games/Skyrim skyrim.ini file to make sure the bAllowscreenshot function is set to 1 instead of 0. Novajackpot
hey i know this thread is old but i have started experiencing this just recently  i REALLY hope someone know how to So I've got a fairly simple problem. I can't take screenshots, but I've tried several different solutions thought.I tried adding "bAllowScreenshot=1" under "[display]" in the Skyrim.ini (As well as in the "SkyrimPrefs.ini" and "Skyrim-default.ini", and more recently in "low.ini", "medium.ini", "high.ini" and "VeryHigh.ini" too in my frustration). When adding that line to "Skyrim.ini" thought, it seemed to work at first. It paused for a second (as it is supposed to do when you take a screenshot), but I get no notification about a screenshot being saved, and after checking my Skyrim folder I can confirm that there are no screenshots saved. What am I supposed to do to be able to take screenshots? Thank you all in advance! :smile:i had the same problem with oblivion on windows 7 and after searching for an eternity i found the solution at bethsoft change the ballow screenshot=1 in the configuration set located in documentshope it helps Where we have to drop it? Under display? Edited April 3, 2014 by shevaedi
Leowynn
I have the same problem and I already changed 0 to 1 in skyrim. ini file, I already tried prt.sc, alt + prt.sc, ctrl + prt.sc, windows icon + prt.sc, fn + prt.sc, f12, to open Paint and "paste"... and STILL NO SCREENSHOT. I checked folder on C: My documents: games: skyrim and every other folder related to skyrim, and NO screenshots. I searched whole C disk and didn't find screenshot folder. I don't run Skyrim via Steam, and I use win 8. So, please, any advice I didn't already hear? Anyone? PS. prt.sc button works well out of the game. Morwane
If any of you are using Mod Organizer with local save games. It might be what's causing a problem, as you have to edit Skyrim.ini that's in your profile folder and not the one in Documents/MyGames. Generally it's in .../[ModOrganizer installation folder]/profiles/[profile name]/Skyrim.ini Hope this helps.
Catnight
For f12 you have to have the steam overlay activated.
