Oblivion Gate help needed NOW.

Okay, so my dad and I are playing Oblivion for the XBOX 360 right now, and he's at the part where you give Martin the Welknyd(sp?) Stone. He needs another ingrediant, but he's not sure what it is, so he wants you to ask Jauffre about some gaurd in Bruma. Jauffre tells you that there is an Oblivion Gate right by Bruma that needs shut. Well, we got the gaurds to come in with us in all. All except for the captain, Burd, have died. We can only reach the second level of the tower, and we can't find any other passageway to get up on the higher levels. Merci!

Okay, so I just found out by searching on different FAQ's for Oblivion, and it says you need an army, recruited from other cities, to go in there.. Dad & I have read the quest list on the game, and it says we need to tell Burd how to activate the sigil stone or whatever.. But we still can't find out how to get to the top, because there isn't any more doors on the second floor besides the one you came in! Dx Please help!

After you show Burd how to close the gate is when you need to recruit aid from the other cities by closing their gates.

 

One of the best ways I've found for the maps when I'm running around is to look at your small local map periodically. Also, look for any doors that don't goto to another area; some doors (usually labelled 'Citadel Door') open to a ramp that leads to a higher room.

 

Now, for this gate I don't think you have to run around the side towers any (if memory serves); so i'd look at the map and see if there is an area you've missed. Failing that you can see if you can get into a side tower and then see if there is any bridges; but I don't recall that being necessary when giving Burd the tour. And don't feel bad that Burd's guards die; they are wimps and even Burd wouldn't have survived the tris i've done if he wasn't immortal on that mission. ;)

Yeah, we've been looking at the small map a bit. We're in the area that the rendering halls lead to, the area that has the blood fountain. We found a citadel door, but it just leads to a few scamps and a few of "The Punished" things. Oh, and a large trap that is activated by some levers. It swings down and it has spikes. We went through a random dorr that said "The Blood Feat" and that's how we got on the second level, but when you go up the ramp thing, there is only a magic essence and a punished heart. There were a few demons too, but we took care of them..

 

We've lead Burd around the area(of what we could show), but we're still confused as to how to get to the top level of the tower, since there are no further doors on the second level, except for the one you go onto the second level in the first place(if that made any sense, lol).

 

 

EDIT It's "The Fury Spike", not "The Blood Feast" lmfao. -smacks head- :wallbash:

Okay, a door just randomly opened up on the second floor? XDD lol.

So we just found out that he HAS to be with you for the doors to open.

We'd rather him not.

We're bad aims, since we're using a mage staff of shock, don't wanna hurt the poor guy. O;

Well, we've decided to go, and bring him with us into the levels. When the door opens, we make him wait outside, go in the newly opened door, secure the area(kill demons, by that I mean ^^) and then make him come in there so the doors will open again and he doesn't die. ;D
